Bought new 22 x4m

Hey guys, just wanted to introduce myself. I’m
New to the BMW world and just picked up a 22 x4m comp edition. I’m in love with this thing. I have a few simple things I would like to do to it and would love some opinions.

1. Gong to get an expel wrap
2. Been reading about the 265/295 tire swap, would like to go with the ps4s
3. Ordered a race chip gts black (hope I didn’t jump the gun)
4. Wanted a bit of more exhaust sound, looking at the akropovic axle back with carbon tips. (Lord is that expensive)

I don’t need to go too crazy, not sure how well these chips work. I already have an 1100hp Camaro ZL1 so don’t need it to crazy and saw some good reviews on the chip.

And input would be appreciated !

Here she is.

Congratulations. Love that interior color!

How about you just drive it bone stock for now to see how you like it over a few weeks/months? At least until your 1200 mile service. With another car with over 1K HP do you really want a higher than stock horsepower SAV?

As far as the mods you list, the PPF is a good choice. For tires, burn up what you have then go the alternate tire size. For the exhaust, more power to you if you have 4k for an exhaust just to add sound. 1k midpipe was plenty of sound for me.

Hi thanks Mike, yes I don’t plan on doing this now. Just a list I started to gather. Once my 1200mile service is done and I get some more feedback on
The chip I’ll take it to get installed. Tires can wait till they are worn as well as exhaust. Just needed a feel for some minor things for now

Plus I hear the ride is a bit better with the Michelins compared to the stock contis.

Welcome to the Forum, Grahxen, and congratulations on your new X4MC. I flipped one of your images which appeared sideways so others could view easier. Looking forward to your future images/thoughts as you get more seat time. Enjoy!

Absolutely stunning…I’m thinking of that interior or Adelaide on Brooklyn Grey. Not sure what would hold up better with a toddler in the back though. Any insight?

Bmock17 is selling his Remus midpipe if you are looking for a bit more sound but not looking to break the bank with a new exhaust.
You have a lower price option of the Dinan Axel back at like $2500, everything else is going to be like $4000 ish unless you can find an exhaust on the forums like I did.

I loved the red interior but because of my 4 and 5 year old daughters I became sensible and got the black interior.

The sakhir orange is beautiful. I would think it would be fine as long as no one’s stabbing holes in it

How about this valvetronic full exhaust? Looks like it bolts to the downpipe? The x3/x4 has primary cats on the downpipe and I guess secondaries on the mid section? I’m guessing these aren’t monitored? Basically I don’t want to add an exhaust that needs a tune.

Looks nice.

Stunning build. I was shopping for X4M a few months ago but delayed the decision. My configuration included the same interior.

Enjoy it!

You need to get a seat cover that covers the child car seat from top to bottom below their feet that does not stain. I used a clear thick plastic cover and had no issues in my E90 335d when mine was a toddler with beige leather interior. Also add one of those kick covers behind the front passenger seat until they no longer put their feet up there.

It’s going in Monday to match the tint in the rear fir the driver/passenger front.

Never heard of this before, but to have the midpipe and exhaust for that price is a steal!

We’ll just wanted to give an update. I got the ER mid pipe and installed the gts racechip. I cursed for 2 hours trying to get that stupid clip off the boost sensor. Finally got it, took it out for a drive and boy oh boy it’s like a different car. Still has all the pops and crackles, just louder and meaner and pulls like no other now.

The torque hits so much lower now and just keeps pulling.

I’m going to get it dynoed just to see what kind of power it’s making now.

If anyones questioning doing the ER mid pipe. Do it, with the stock muffler sounds great.

If you want some extra stress get the racechip

It’s probably easier to remove the wheel and some plastic crap so you can get 2 hands on the thing. What a pain.
