I went to a dealership the other day to see what the tartufo interior looked like in person as they have an X3MC there that has it. Original sticker was $84ish. As it turned out, that vehicle had been used as a demo and had 2200ish miles on it. They had a completely BS flyer on the windshield that said $3,900 down and $798 a month. I was like - "sign me the F up!!" Yea...it's not even close. $3,900 are initial fees - then you need another $3,600 down and it's $798 a month without tax - which is another $60 a month. I'm sorry but these guys are such scumbags...lol.

What I don't understand is that they were saying the discount for it being a demo is $9,250. However, putting down $7,500 and paying $860 a month is not much better than what other dealerships have quoted me for brand new.

What did you think of the tartufo interior?

When I built it online, I thought it looked awesome but then I started seeing it in videos and pictures online and thought it looked very orange. In person however, it was gorgeous!! I took photos of it but even those pictures don't do it justice.

Hard to say without seeing the lease breakdown. They may have been inflating the MF (as that's the default value for some dealerships).

Discount + incentives should add up to > $10,000 in discount. That combined with $7500 down, including tax on a lease (assuming 3/30) I would imagine would be in the $600's.

Don't get me wrong, $860 a month with tax would be great with < $1500 out the door, but $7500 down is > $200/month added to the payment. So that was really > $1000/month for a demo. Hilarious.

Let's be honest, these cars are going to be sitting through all of winter and as soon as summer comes to an end, will be competing with gently used CPO models for the low to mid $50's. Also, new M3/M4 will likely start production in summer too which will likely dampen some of the demand.

Seems everyone is obsessed with super low monthly payments. My lease deal will be 10% off MSRP for a loaded 2020 X3MC minus the Driver Assistance package (don't need that crap), $2000 lease credit, 58% residual @ 10k miles. I'll be putting $2500 down and payment will be $950/month. I could put down $7500 to lower my payment another ~$150/month, but why drop all that cash on a lease? 🤔

Dec has the better deal, it has 4K finance credit vs 2.5K in Nov although they increased to 4K in the last week of Nov.

Anyone considering the $4k credit in lieu of the lease deal? I feel like the $4k finance credit is only attractive if you plan to keep the vehicle indefinitely or outside of the 3-year maintenance period.

It's not that people are obsessed with a super low payment but see that others are getting them and want them as well. Why spend more than you have to, the car is great but not super exclusive or one that an aggressive deal can't be made. My deal was ZERO down ie nothing due upfront, other than my first month payment. Paid 7 MSDs and my monthly is $850 before tax. 12K miles as well. I have a X4MC but the X3MC's they had were a lower MSRP and it would've been even cheaper. No reason to put ANYTHING down on a lease. You risk losing ALL of it if the car gets totaled or stolen without recovery.

Does the $1500 loyalty apply to finance or just leasing?

So I sort of understand that MSD's buy down the lease rate - can someone explain how this all works? Everytime I bring it up at a dealership the person Im talking to never knows any details about it or just says "yea it buys down the rate". How much is each deposit?

purchase is nice if you dont want to be tied down to a annual mileage or on how long you keep it. IMO being outside the 3 year maint period is not a big deal. its a oil change or two

The $2,000 is loyalty, right? I believe there is also $750 conquest cash for those not currently in an X3M/C.

Btw, good looking rides:

Yes, I would also like further explanation on MSD. When you say buy down the lease rate, is that buying down the money factor/apr? How is that different from putting down money to lower your monthly payment, unless you are getting interest on the MSDs and they are returned to you at the end of the lease? 🤔

The MSD is returned at the end of the lease. You are saving on interested over the course of the lease since you bought down the money factor which could save thousands.

What happens if I transfer the lease early or decide to sell the vehicle?

I believe you are screwed on a lease transfer.

I think if the buyout is paid then you should get back the MSD's. Not 100% sure though. Definitely not an expert!

Ahh, so maybe that's why people on Swap-A-Lease have statements in their posts they say "I require $xxxx money" for the lease transfer; they must be trying to recoup MSDs
