These emblems are really growing on me. Does anyone think it will look good on Phytonic Blue?

I've viewed it on the configurator but can't really get a good sense. It does look good on Taz Blue though.

IND might try to paint them, replacing the white with a dark blue or black. That would look great with a gunmetal car.

IND just added X3/X5 and X3M/X5M 50th Anniversary Classic M emblems.

Do you have a link to the steering wheel emblem? Does it lay over the original or did you have to remove the original emblem?

Here is the link, you can choose the 45mm option for the steering wheel. It is an emblem which can also stick in the original BMW logo and you can go back to the original one whenever you want to.

Looks great I think! These are actual OEM badges I ordered from a shop in Germany, not the AliExpress fakes.

I know that feeling. I'm considering them on my PB build. I ask my wife and she just says "it's important that you like it..."

Paddleshifterz in Germany has a lookup for the part numbers in New and legacy BMWs.

The 50th Anniversary roundels are coming into stock at EU and US online retailers as of July 11th.

Most modern F/G-Platform BMW use an adhesive and 2/3 pins to mount the roundels. Older BMWs just use 2 pins and no adhesive.

For the life of me I cannot get the front hood roundel off. I'm trying my best to avoid prying against the paint but is that how everyone is doing it? Do I pry from bottom, top, or near the sides where its closer to the anchor points?

I removed all of the adhesive but the two anchors for the emblem won't come out. I got a shipping strap underneath and pulling it with all my strength will bend the emblem a little in the middle but the two anchor legs are still holding strong.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

There is a short youtube video showing how to do it (try “how to remove bmw emblem #shorts). Not sure if it is an X3. Seems quite easy in the video (or the guy is just lucky). Also interested to know some tips for removal as I am planning to swap them for the classic ones.

I found a video of someone showing several methods but basically I used a very thin plastic pry tool (that broke in the process) to initially get the adhesive off and the badge up a little . It’s one for electronics repair like phones. I did use a very minor amount of heat from a heat gun to soften it a little.

It seems the trick is to just use a micro fiber cleaning cloth, fold it over several times, and just shove that underneath your pry tool. Once enough space I switched to a larger pry tool and shoved it in there and twisted near left and right side to pop the anchor legs. Of course with the microfiber cloth underneath the whole time.

Try to use the microfiber cloth as much as possible to create a lever to pop the badges off. It doesn’t seem like the badge would ever come off just by pulling up with a shipping strap

Thanks for the tips. Did you also replaced the rear roundel? Does it come out easier than the front hood one?

Maybe because I did the front and was more experienced but I popped off the rear very easily with the same technique.

I saw someone else say rear is easier too so that might be it. The rear has a lot of adhesive though, my roundel came off with the rear adhesive almost fully intact on the car still and it was an absolute pain to get off. Peeled off as much as possible and then used goo gone and kept scrubbing lightly for what felt like forever.

Hahaha. I pop the trunk and crawl in through the back with the rear seats down! I go out the same way.
My driver seat memory setting position 2 lays the seat down-flat, position 1 brings it back up to driving position, very useful buttons

UK garage spaces are too tight to fit modern sized cars but I usually drive it once a week as a second car so it’s not too inconvenient

Good exercise for me bones.

Did not buy the wheel hub inserts.

I got them from ebay so not the original BMW ones but they look alright and have been on for over 4months. If they fade I will put the originals back, enjoying the look for now. Try amazon or alibaba too
