If BMW required the dealer upload the DME logs prior to approving warranty work they would absolutely find the tune. Even a piggyback tune can be detected by BMW IF they look. If you blow the engine BMW will require the logs and will find the tune and will deny coverage and put a warranty block on your VIN for the power train. If BMW does not require the DME logs the dealer will just do the work as they know they will get paid by BMW. All the dealer cares about is getting paid. OP dodged a bullet this time.

Overseas unlocker for the new security in 2021+ BMWs

Well currently I’m on a 10.7 in the 1/4 with 130mph, soft launching on E50. Full weight also.

Mostly just working through the throttle tables, E50 map is not finished as we are running out of lpfp. So busy chasing that bug, considering problems I am having car is performing well.

Searching for lpfp upgrades now so we can finish the E50 map fully and will be doing PI a bit later down the line.

So this was never an issue with the engine or vanos but was a tune issue?

Vanos solenoid actuator on exhaust was problematic. So was the valve body.

Issue was corrected a lot by the change of parts.

Oil pressure solenoid and adjustments was the final fix.

The1EyedPigF97 good luck not sure who you're working with but BM3 OTS STG2 E30 are running 10.7@128mph with no sign of lpfp running of out fuel.

Furthermore, even on Custom Tuning (maybe BM3 has better tables) like 2022 X3M of jairomvp182 , BrockDM (Who holds Stock Hardware 1/4 mile record at 10.41) and bunch of others we have no issues with lpfp running out of fuel on E50. This only happens with Full E85 which I ran 10.65@130.92mph 2yrs ago

This is whats concerning me, so far we have basically narrowed everything down to software problems.

MHD has not seen my software version before, neither has the tuner. none of the OTS maps from MHD run on my car. its been a huge headache due to this, MHD has been directly involved in the tuning of the car to figure out problems in order to get everything working due to the different ROM they have not seen before till me.

Honestly its been over a 3 month process and its frustrating with many moments of wanting to give up. As we figure out more the car gets faster. I am confident its software related as I have an issue with partial throttle under boost as well. basically non stop testing as this rom version according to MHD and the tuner react differently and they are learning from it as we progress.

Please DM your ROM version so I can check with BM3 Tech Support I assure you this is not a problem on this side of tuning

Did you have any issues on 93 pump or just when you went to Ethanol?

It also depends on how you push the car I guess.

Just to revive this thread.

After having both vanos actuators and valve bodies replaced. Car ran well, no issues. About 15k Km driven. Last night while doing a 100-200 pull.

Vanos locked out on me again, only exhaust side. Today car is idling a bit rough, every 4-5 seconds at idle feels like it misfires but sounds more like surging then misfire.

Anyway, will sort it out and update if I find anything. Will be changing oil and testing vanos with ISTA also will reset vanos adaptations.

I think it's time you come to BM3
not so easy to switch as I am with femto unlock.

its the name of the game at the end of the day. I will do a oil change and log pressure through RPM range. car is still performing well.

Also did a 10.4 on the 1/4. maybe will run faster soon.

There is no issue here. You can easily flash MHD, BM3 on current unlock. I recommend MGF, it is faster. MHD slower for 0.3s 100-200kmh.

I started to get a lot faster with more revisions and mods.

doing full build, will be finished very soon. but I was trapping 140-142 before the full build. now will work on short track after its back together.

I will post a full build thread on the car after its all done.

Mine just threw this code 13070D two days ago. I go to the dealer tomorrow. Vehicle is bone stock and three years old with 13,000 miles. Seems odd for an issue this new in the game. FYI I am under warranty. What do you think the repair time will be, hours, days, or weeks. Anyone want to place a gentlemen’s bet of $1 lol.

Any update? I get a fat cut on WOT but it’s only in third or fifth gear usually and it doesn’t happen if I roll onto throttle. Sparks and coils are new, gapped to .028, running a mhd stage 1, I’m on 2019 firmware so I’m told that could be the suspect (2020 X3M). It normally only happens when the car is warm. No codes, sometimes won’t happen at all. I have a month of warranty left so I wanna see if I can sort this out by then.
