2023 X3 M Comp Ordering Guide

Hello,

I just put a deposit down on an X3 M Competition. Since BMW is changing to 2023 production in July I was unable to get a 2022 allocation but i'm first in line for a 2023 allocation at my dealer. Specs below, based on 2022 ordering guide.

Would anyone have any insight as to when the 2023 guide will come out and what potential changes there might be from '22 to '23 models & pricing?

X3 M Comp
Carbon Black Metallic
21" M Double Spoke Bi-Color 21" Rims, perf non-RFT
Black Merino Leather
Carbon Fiber Trim
Comp Package
Heated Steering Wheel
M Shadowline Lights
Standard Emblems

Great question, am in the same situation (week 30). I think there are some problems with delivering the parking assistant plus but my order hasn’t changed yet and wqs even confirmed by BMW Belgium/Luxembourg two days ago.

Subscribed. I have placed an order for an X3M Comp as well and it's listed on my order sheet as a 2022 but my status is 047-awaiting an allocation from my dealer. Trading my 22' M40i.

I ordered mine last week but the dealer say there were no '22 allocations available. They are estimating mid to late June for the BMW system to switch over to '23 ordering. I'll update when I get info.

I spoke with a friend who works for corporate and he told me that nothing is changing on the 2023's provided no supply changes occur. I trust what he says but I would still take that with a grain of salt until the official ordering guides come out i guess.

Most likely the reason your order is not moving is because your dealer does not have an allocation. This is pretty common. Any BMW dealer can take an order but unless they have an allocation your order will not move. Allocations are somewhat dependent on how many M cars the dealer has sold. Some dealers may never get an allocation. Other people have waited 6+ months before their order moved into production.

Interesting development yesterday. My dealer reached out to me to confirm a few details of my build so I stopped in to find out what the deal was. They might, might being the key word, be getting an allocation or two for the 2022 X3 M. I'll find out next week. This surprised me as I thought I had no chance of a '22 and was waiting for a '23.

I'll update next week. It sounds like Spartanburg is cranking out vehicles.

Or with the state of the economy, inflation and record high gas prices, I’m sure some previously taken allocations are suddenly becoming available across the country.

Apologies if I butchered how to reply to a post but what tires are you thinking of getting? I’m looking at building an X3M Competition too and am wondering what the best all-seasons are for the 21” set up. Appreciate any help!

Haha yeah, I have an order for a '22 right now and was thinking about killing it when the rates rose last month. If they do it again, I'll cancel it and wait it out.

Kicking myself for not ordering when rates were 0.9% last year.

I'm in a similar position but I'm curious what you think. Waiting 1 more month would make the vehicle a '23 MY and I'm hesitant pause my '22 just because it will be a year old in 6 months (by MY that is).

Buckle up, will be a long wait before rates drop. Delays cost me almost a full extra point in interest, almost decided to walk myself. Things are only going to get worse in the next year or two so decided to stick with it before they go up even more & price hike on MY23.

The rates are not going to drop for many years to come. If this inflation does not come down to normal levels then car prices are going to increase as well. Your only bet for a price break is if supply chain issue is fixed, market is flooded with cars, we get a recession, car sales tank and you get a huge 10% + off like before COVID. Very unlikely. Buy now. YOLO!

I could definitely see demand at the margin beginning to soften. Let's face it, these are gas guzzlers, hella fun, but guzzlers. May be a harder sell in these economic conditions, inflation, gas prices surging to new highs, etc. This could open up allocations and even revert back to invoice+ pricing, instead of MSRP or the ridiculous MSRP+ pricing.

I was personally planning swapping the summer non RFT's for Pirelli Scorpion winter tires for the first winter and then try to grab a winter tire and rim set at some point. I know this is not ideal and these tires are not cheap.
