Theres kits for this, and several people have done it. I have a 12" with a box above it, but may move it underneath this summer.

Interesting. Do you have link(s) to these? I looked a year ago before I did my custom box. I know one member here did a one-off custom enclosure with the same shop that did my box.

I was talking about something like this, I've used it in the past and its worth it for the extra boost. Its not a 12" Alpine Type R by any means but works.

All the subs I’ve seen are on G01 with no spare tire. So I was wondering if someone else done anything different.

With a comment like this, you've obviously never seen or heard some of their best products. Comparing a Cerwin-Vega sub to BOSE sub clearly shows an old mindset of the past that's been held onto for a long time. Even an entry level CV sub would blow a BOSE sub out of the water without much effort. Have you ever seen the way CV's are built here in the USA? Just mentioning them in the very same sentence shows the knowledge base is a touch off. But I digress. Anyone who thinks a dedicated & purpose built CV sub wouldn't knock the snot out of the laughable HK factory units isn't in the right frame of mind yet.
