You can chalk up as many similarities as you want, but one thing is for sure...the S58 with 510HP at the wheels will set this far apart from he M40i variant. It won't even be close performance wise.

As for exterior aesthetics, I tend to agree with most that the M versions do not set themselves far enough apart. I doubt the MY2022 LCI will do much about that either.

Sold on the X3MC with Merino Sakhir Orange interior and CF trim. Must have updated tech so I am willing to wait until August or even December (or whenever the next minor update is). I doubt the moon-roof / roof-rails will be a US delete option at any point but one can hope. With exteriors I always swore I would go Alpine White. That obviously didn't last with my Phytonic Blue X3 M40i...

Decisions, decisions...

but what companies do make them that different? I mean look at Mercedes and Audi, AMGs don't look much different than the AMG package adds to the base versions, same with Audi other than the tail pipes...

The Audi fake tailpipes no less but definitely see your point. Wouldn't hurt if they pushed for more "defining characteristics" between lines and variants...even though that would make things a bit more expensive. I'm also sure BMW didn't want to mess with the successful aerodynamics much either.

I can't really figure out sophisto grey. I thin it may be too dark and has some brown in it from all the pictures I've seen. I wish it were more Audi Daytona gray which is such a nice deep tone. I'm teetering between Blue and Donington but will probably go Donington as it's M exclusive.

I can't disagree because currently it's my 3rd choice. I may bump it off for Phytonic Blue. So far I am digging Donington Gray. There's also Toronto that may be worth considering.

okay who is going to order this first and let us all know how it looks in person

factory rear tinting will help a bit, thinking might just be worth it to tint all around to get this combo, I love color exteriors and love having a more lively interior as well (my wife had red leather on her X6 and we loved it, mw exterior, felt very unique).
I currently have SO and black on my M3, while I love the SO exterior, the inside is just blah to me. That being said I have kids so white is out (especially with baseball), don't care for tan interiors...

or go super safe and pick AW (prefer metallics though)

Wish I could specify SO for the driver and passenger seat only and black in the rear and everywhere else. IMO, that would make Toronto Red / SO more appealing. Until I can see these colors in person, I'm going to stick with my first few options lol.

Someone needs to go Toronto Red over black/beige. It will either look amazing or like a happy meal if the beige highlights are too yellow.

Like cockpit won't come on X3M and X4M models in August.
No differences of dampers between regular M and Competition.
No Package available as seen on regular X3 and X4
I gave a wrong info in my previous post: Driving assistant plus is available on competition models too, costs CHF 2920.00

Another option missing on the configurator, is the acoutics Windows. it's not standard in Switzerland and it costs CHF 250.00.
