Boost Pressure (PSI)
Is anyone know if there is a way to see the PSI coming from our 35i.
Currently running stock and i was wondering if the different mode use different boost pressure. - Eco - Comfort - Sport - Sport + I will probably go with a custom tune in couple months but i would like to see the difference, before and after. Any boost gauge available that can be installed easily using the OBD2 plug ? How about the autometer plug in ? https://www.autometer.com/dashlink-o...s-android.html Thanks |

Different modes do not change boost pressure. Aside from the engine holding revs higher and tranny shifting faster, the engine also goes on a better cooling profile for sport/sport+ mode and keeps coolant in check quicker than comfort/eco pro.

The Turbo pressure and engine output are the same regardless of mode as stated.

This is true, but it may be that the mapping differences across the modes mean that the boost ramps up and down differently. If you consider how the transmission changes, this is almost definitely true. Someone might care how that boost profile changes across modes even if the max is the same. It is probably not different enough to matter much on a stock car, though.

I think any difference perceived would be due to a different throttle(valvetronic) opening, and, therefore, less pressure/power. When in WOT, I am willing to bet money everything is the same regardless of mode (for example, we know that the exhaust flap opens when in WOT as RPMs go higher in Eco). It'd be hard to get that different "map" of power/boost as even on a dynamometer you're WOT |

You can just get a Jb4 and run map0 and run the Bluetooth module to monitor your stock boost levels. Orrrrr MHD monitoring via obd2 port, Bootmod3 as well.
Stock boost levels are around 7-9 psi |

In the lower range of things yes eco mode does control the wastegate differently and will keep it open at low throttle ranges to reduce boost pressure. If you have good hearing you can hear the wastegate opening constantly releasing pressure even when driving steady. It also makes the engine run hotter (the thermostat is ECU controlled) for better combustion and changes the transmission mapping in lower throttle ranges to save gas.
Put the gas pedal to the floor? Eco mode or Sport +, the car will run exactly the same 1/4mi time and mph as the WOT maps are the same for safety/emergency purposes. Driving modes do not change the maximum boost pressure or overall speed of the car. Measuring or monitoring boost pressure is a waste of time, money, and dashboard space. |

look for used JB, they are going for dirt cheap sometimes.
I got my JB1 for 160$ cad. And my JB4 for 200$ cad. The JB1 was for sale since 2 years... |

I have an Android tablet with a full size USB port. Great app! You download the app through the play store, plug in, it "sees your car", then you can buy the diagnostics in-app module for like 80 bucks (I did not buy it) AND/OR buy the flasher in-app and buy the pack of tunes (stage 1 is one pack, stage 2 another). Those are for tuning the engine. JB is a piggyback hardware... |

I have a 2019 X5 50i I had tuned (Velos Stage 2) that I believe they increased the boost from 15 to 20psi. Dyno said 545awhp so about 150 awhp gain (456HP = 387awhp). My question is can I turn up the boost more? To what level? Will I need anything i.e. special fuel or other mods? Lastly, could this company just have increased my boost and charged me $3k?? |

One is me seeing what the top speed was before the tune. Not trying it now that it’s a whole second 0-60mph faster! Watch to see the top speed! Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!! |

You can turn it up until the turbo runs out of puff but if you add mods along the way you will see better results. Intake, intercooler, catless downpies, plugs and fueling will give you more power at the same boost levels.
