It's definitely a lot nicer than I was originally expecting. When I was making the deal on the car I had yet to see it in person as it was at a sister dealership and I was very hesitant on it because I was adamant that I didn't want aluminum trim but after seeing it in person and along side the black interior and the Glacier Silver exterior I really fell in love. It all comes together very nicely.

Thank you. I'm honestly torn between the rhombicle and the more brushed aluminum. I like the techie feel of the rhombicle - just worry I'll find it too busy after a while. Like the brushed look of the aluminum, but sometimes wonder if it's too dark compared to the other satin trim. The availability of carbon fiber would have made the decision so much easier for me.

I originally wanted black leather with black or grey stitching, and with grey poplar. I looked at one on the lot with black leather, blue stitching and rhombicle. I immediately knew it's what I wanted. The blue pops just enough without it looking tacky. I like the design of the rhombicle and I love that it leaves no prints (I usually brace my fingers in front of the screen when I'm using the touch screen)

Thanks guys. Its definitely a lot better in person. The blue piping looks great in the evening when the ambient light becomes more noticeabe. And the rhombicle just feels nice and sturdy. I thought some of the wood finishes were a little too plastic looking for my taste. And I didn't really like that the brushed aluminum didn't match the other brushed aluminum (or stainless steel or whatever it is) that are on the door and near the display and gear shifter. To each their own.

I kind of cheated!... My car is from pre-spec’d stock. I know my local BMW dealer quite well. I had actually popped in last weekend to have a look around the new G05 with a view to upgrade my wife’s F15 maybe next year. There was a G01 M40i in the showroom and while I was taking a look around, the sales guy told me that they have a promotion on current stock up to end of Feb before the 19 reg plates from March. We went out for a test drive and I was impressed! So... I ended up browsing through BMW UK G01 stock specs and picked out this one!!

So I’ve only been waiting 1 week so far and only have 1 week to go!

If I had spec’d from scratch, I think I would have gone for blue with cognac on 20’s. The 21s look great but I know will be expensive for tyres. The rest of the spec was pretty much what I wanted.

That's a sweet scenario - congrats! CA told me to expect delivery 1st week of March, but I'm not buying it.
