Figured I would pose a question here on this thread rather than start a separate one, but should I have expected to have a first aid kit and tie down net (in cargo area) included during delivery? I didn’t realize those things were “missing” until I got home from the pick up. This is a US delivery.

I was also told by my dealership sales guy about no first aid kit in all BMW. I told him that the e-manual says there is one available and the manual is specific to my VIN. He said he'd order me one and I have yet to hear back from him... :

Why protector? In my previous model I had no protector and got some BMW cockpit cleaner on the screen, this caused a blemish. Luckily BMW I argued with and they replace it. Just before I give back my 35d I cleaned her up and made the stupid mistake again, just a bit but you could see the score marks.

Not taking that chance with my lovely new baby.

It works a treat, you have to be BANG ON accurate with the placement if you have OCD like me ;-)

I agree with you. I have glass protectors on all the smart phones in my family and the screens look new almost 3 years later. Have not put one on my X3 yet but plan on doing so.

Any difference in touch sensitivity after you install the protector? Thanks and Merry Christmas!

Nope - I detected no difference after applyng the screen. Aside from the fact I am off centre by about 0.5mm. This is a tiny amount but like I said, I am OCD so wish I would've spent more time on it. I guess I could refit, but I hate the possibility of a micron sized piece of dust ruining my life forever.

Nice to be worried about only such extremely irrelevant things huh?

Do you have any glare issues with the glass screen protector installed? The glass screen protectors I'm familiar with have a gloss finish.

I'm thinking that there is only one protector being sold by multiple vendors.

Did you ever try plain water to clean that blemish? Every "screen cleaner" I've tried has left a film/blemish on the instrument cluster display (not touchscreen), but a very lightly damp microfiber cloth (plain water) works wonders for cleaning and removing blemishes (this is on the X3, of course).

Downloaded bimmer code app and a OBD v=bluetooth adapter to take off the liability warning, the auto start/stop feature and the Dynamic sound for now.

Where can I find out more about this “bimmer code app?” I did this with my 2011 Audi A4 and it was great. I turned off the seatbelt warning noise and had my screen work with DVDs playing even when you went faster than 20 mph. I absolutely can’t stand the start/stop feature in newer cars and would love to disable (without having to do it every time).

What’s the liability warning? And I haven’t heard of Dynamic sound.
