g01 long term reliablity?

Any major issues on this gen x3? An older family member looking to pick one up, but cross shopping it with the glc 300 . CR shows lot of issues with this gen glc hoping to tell them x3 looks good.

I wouldn't buy a gen 1 2018 model go right for the 2019; haven't see any issues pop up on those. I wouldn't say major issues but there has been about 20 of us that had rear output drive shaft replacements (rear Axles).

Yeah it would be 2019. There's always something I guess.

I should tell the to get the rx350 otherwise I will inherit the problems lol.

Every car has its own problems these days.

My work specializes in Technology for Gerontological care; we see a lot of RX350's.

Joking aside its a nice ride but it does have its own list of issues.

When I think “reliability” I don’t think BMW, I think Toyota Tundra, Subaru Forester and Honda Civic; I’ve owned them all and never an issue. Ever. My X3 M40i; rattle in door as though it’s got 100K miles on it, BUT the most fun to drive.

wait your x3 m40i has 100k miles on it?....

I think we should ask define reliability lol...

I had 300k on a Jeep wrangler from 1999 and didn't have to do anything but change a radiator. Any car can be "reliable".

My X3 M40i only has 2800 miles on it, and the rattle doesn’t affect reliability...just a bit annoying at times. Personally, I feel that I’ve got a good one (X3), and I can live with a less than perfect car. The fun factor takes me back to the days of driving my Mustang Boss 302...and it had a few FoMoCo issues.

It seems like a rattle is more of a satisfaction issue vs. a reliability issue.

lol if rattles are what makes a car not reliable and what I based my car buying purchase on then I'd throw away every car I've ever been in and owned.

the only car I could ever imagine NOT rattling in would be a rolls royce. that's it. I've never been in a rolls royce.
