I love the 21" with RFT .... I must be mad but I do. The wheels make the car IMO and the ride is still good IMO.

Correct. "Performance" tires on the US X3 M40i configurator means summer tires and they are run-flat. In fact, all the tires regardless of wheel choice are RFT. There are no non-RFT options.

Here's the UK option showing non-RFT. Sorry it's not US..

What about running costs?

Discounts on the X3MC are to be found, far better than the quote shown in the video.
Have to agree with this, unless your a cash buyer that is! Two insurance policys, services ect ect.

I have spent a good few thousand on options for my X3MC so list otr price is 82k but i got in total between bmwfs and dealer £13720 discount and with the optional payment on pcp up at 37k it keeps the monthly payments at a lot smaller amount that prices quoted from Joes video.

If i had to pay list price then i would have just went for M40i.

I drove both of them this weekend, each for about an hour, same route. No way I would ever get an X3M, sorry.. Suspension is horrible. I was so happy to be back at the dealer after that hour.. Very bumby.. I owned a M4 Convertible and in Comfort it is a much smoother ride than the X3M. Currently driving and X6M and it is also much smoother.

I thought it might a perfekt family car with some power. But I would not want to have a baby on that back seat with that suspension.. That said: I don't see any reason for that car with that suspension. Why would one by one? I don't get it... The M40i is a much better car to drive. Maybe not going that fast around corners as an X3M, but hey, and X3M ist not built for cornerspeeds neither, buy an M3/M4 if you are looking for that.

If the suspension was more comfortable in comfort, I think would have turned in my X6M.

Guess its down to personal taste at the end of the day. I just prefer the seats/look of bumpers and exhausts and so on and the performance of it its nuts. However i feel coming from a F25 without any adaptable suspension and run flat 20 inch wheels to my X3MC with non run flat tyres then the ride is actually ok (mine is on Conti’s if that makes any difference), its certainly not any worse in imo that i have noticed but everyone is allowed to have their own feelings on it.
