Now that’s forum special treatment, putting wheels on at requests!

TBH never considered the colour but with adding the black accents it really sets the blue off very nicely

Well given the current weather and the long term forecast is all double figures here so I don't think I'll need the winter tyres now.

Summer tyres feel very different, steering is heavier and more road noise!

I can't stop from coming back and looking at these. I think they'd look really good on my Glacier Silver especially once I get all my black out pieces from IND. I went searching for the actual AC Schnitzer parts and the price is just crazy. I may order the same set you did after all. I'm just leery about having to drill new holes.

Question about installation, did you have to jack it up or put it on a lift to get a good enough position to do the install or were you able to get a good enough vantage point without?

They were extremely easy to fit without jacking it up, plenty of room for a screwdriver or impact driver, unlike on the F30!

One thing I'm not really happy about is the visible grey sticky tape so I might just use some black touch up paint on it.

Sounds like they may have used too think of a tape on them. That's a bit of a bummer as I know that would drive me nuts too.

It's not very thick at all, but it's still a visible thin grey line, it's no biggy, should only take a few minutes to touch it in. Could even use some black silicone to fill the gap and keep moisture away from the tape.

I said that a few years back - went snowboarding in March so thought to change over. Came back and DUMP for a few days. They can't even predict tomorrow accurately let alone a week or two ;-)

It did however allow me to get more accurate control data on the difference between winter and summers. I guess you know the outcome ;-)

I bit the bullet and ordered a set of these. Won't be here until mid-March at the earliest.

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F163285135303

They are a bit fiddly to fit, but I have previously fitted the full M Performance kit to my F30 so I have had a bit of experience with this kind of thing. The best way I found was to line it up and mark one of the screw holes then drill it and screw the splitter to the bumper before marking the other two screw holes and drilling them, then peel the backing film off and do all three screws up loosely before tightening them up, then push the splitter against the bumper for a minute or so for the tape to stick. Obviously clean the bumper with alcohol first, and if it's not a hot summer day then heat up the tape with a heat gun or hair dryer before sticking it. Oh and two of the screws on each splitter were too long so I had to use some shorter ones.

I'm really happy with the look, they give a more aggressive sporty look without looking too much, and the gloss black ties in nicely with the MP grilles and other gloss black bumper parts.

Anyway, here's the pics, let me know what you think.

Looks so good. I've just a completed a full cerium delete and need these black splitters. I don't think I could handle the install - I'm hoping my dealer would do it. Well done!

Thanks, I'm really happy with them, when I see other X3's the front end looks too thin!

I don't think a dealer will fit them unless you get genuine ACS ones, and the dealer is an ACS partner.

No offence but IMHO that doesn’t look great, like a snow plough !

I am always amazed by people bolting cheap plastics parts to expensive cars

If your happy with the look that’s all that counts

The problem with the standard car is it's all grilles and no bumper, the splitters even this out imo.

Admittedly they're not my ideal splitter design, I would like one similar to the F15 MP one but nothing is available yet.

I really hope 3D Design comes out with their front lip sometime soon. Have a feeling it will be what the X3 really needs.

Just ordered a set of these in glossy black.
How are these installed? Only 3m molding tapes or do they also get bolted on?

EDIT::: sorry. should've read the first post before posting this question.

Had a similar splitter on my G01. The left one fell off today on the highway. I didn't want to use the pop rivets that came with the kit because the holes on the splitter were so far forward and they would have damaged the bumper in an area that couldn't be covered it I took the splitter off.

Oooo sorry to hear that. Mine are installed with 3M tapes plus 3 screws on each sides. Hopefully they stay on.

I knew that the splitter would have quite a bit of down force on it, but I was expecting a slow peel that I could monitor, not a catastrophic failure. That's my fault. Oh well.

How was the quality of the paint on the units that you ordered? The quality of the ones I received was pretty bad. The paint quality was poor overall, but what's worse was the faded clearcoat with a rough finish on the leading edge. I had to vinyl wrap mine just to have a decent finish.

Mine came nicely. But the buttom of my splitters were not painted. Everywhere else were in perfect condition and triple wrapped when delivered to me.

Ordered from this seller... first ordered "carbon style" which is the link below but I requested to switch to gloss black.

I ordered mine on eBay from a seller called 'cptopted.' Conveniently, the listing has not been removed and I can't see all the information anymore. $150 for nothing. Maybe I should order from your guy.

Are your splitter mounting holes closer to the back of the bumper? I felt like the ones on my splitter were so far forward that when I removed the screws to return the lease the holes would have been visible for sure.
