Cruise control increments code
Default large increments in cruise control are 10 km/h in my f25. I read that in US that is 5 mph. As im pretty sure that is just recalculated from kilometers there should be some parameter to code to change 10km/h increments to 5 or 3 which will be more usefull

Mine is in 1 mph increments in the US, which is also the same for vehicles I have that are over 30 years old.
Something is wrong with your vehicle, maybe someone screwed with the coding |

Ditto above. What does it say in your owners manual or the manual built into iDrive?

its similar to turn signals, if you push lightly you have just 3 blinks, if you push beyond point of resistance (term from manual) it will blink pernamently
same with cruise control, small increment is 1 km/h , but you can press harder and it jumps to large increments - as i mentioned before 10 is imho too much |

I guess everyone is different…but the 1mph or 5mph selections work for me. I find the CC switch to be similar to the two position window switches. Pushing up to the resistance point gives you control to lower or raise the window to an exact position…but if you push past the point of resistance…you engage the auto up or auto down of the window.
BMW designed the incremental increase/decrease giving us two options. I just came back from an out of town trip where I used cruise control & had no problem using the 1mph incremental changes to adjust my speed when I came upon slower moving traffic. It was easy to dial back my speed using the single increment adjustment. Dialing back 3 mph was easy with 3 quick flicks of the dial on the steering wheel. Then flicking it again to increase my speed again. I never felt a need to push past the “point of resistance” to utilize the 5mph increment…again, the single 1mph flick of the dial worked without issue to decrease/increase the set speed. There’s also a 3rd operating parameter where you can press & hold the switch to accelerate/decelerate without having to press the accelerator pedal or brake pedal….and the the speed where you release the switch becomes the new set speed. This works great for decelerating quickly without your brake lights illuminating when approaching & passing a cop targeting speeding traffic. Pics below show how easy the subject is to find using the embedded owners manual built into iDrive…using a keyword search of “cruise”:
