Eventually the LCI data will be updated into the realoem.com system. When it does, compare LCI and original part numbers for suspension (shocks, springs and anti roll bars) and see if they are the same. If the same, then coding might get you an easy retrofit path - as it did for ex on the 2016+ F80 M3.

If different, you will likely need to swap out the parts AND get coding done to maximize the effect.

No chance they'll add the extra torque on an upgrade. You'd have to upgrade the car yourself and risk voiding the warranty.

Don't want to be a Debbie downer, but that's the truth. Sorry my man.

That makes perfect sense, I will be keeping my eye out for that.

I'm very confident the suspension is simply a coding change for the EDC.

That would be a false assumption.

Shocks are indeed the same. Data not available for front springs yet in BMW's parts system.

This is good news that BMW stepped up & actually did something about the springs. Curious if they changed the front as well. Please report back once you've found out more updated news. Thank you in advance!

Two years, 20K miles later and my pre-LCI still brings a smile every time I get in the seat. Have ignored mine a bit with the LCI's arrival so did a quick detail and sharing an image.

The LCI does provide some definite improvements for those nearing end of lease or desiring enhanced tech and cabin experience. BMW clearly listened to Enthusiasts in making these changes which bodes well for the future of this model.

Wanted to share a potentially useful automated assistant we came across in the LCI which we don't have on our iD6 2020 X3MC - 'Back-up Assistant'. When I first saw it on the iDrive monitor was puzzled why one would need that.

But, 'Reversing Assistant' as it is called in the Owner's Manual, basically remembers the previous 164 feet you drove into a parking space, be it a garage or parking facility. When you start and then place in reverse, the monitor displays various things and one is 'Back-up Assistant' - if you select it and remove your hands from the wheel it will exactly follow your path you took into that position, you just have to use the brake and/or accelerator as needed. I'm including an image from the Owner's Manual discussing, and there are videos online and other info you can pursue if interested.

It allows more attention to traffic in busy, tight and congested parking lots and less focus on hitting a neighboring parked vehicle or obstruction/curb. This is one of the 'Assistants' which has proven quite useful already actually.

Also sharing another image of the LCI showing how the subtle metallic sheen reflects in early-mid morning sun angles.

Here in the States it's part of the Executive Pkg (under the Parking Assistant Plus sub-section described in the bmwusa.com build portion):

Parking Assistant Plus
No need to fear parallel parking. Simply drive at a slow speed and the Parking Assistant Plus feature can find parking spaces on the right or left side. It offers a camera system that provides an aerial view of your vehicle, and also operates for perpendicular or parallel parking spaces. This semi-autonomous driving feature will take care of steering your car into a parking space, and the Back-up Assistant function will steer you out, while you control the speed and braking.

Here's another good video which describes both the Parking and Back-up Assistants:

Anyone know if spring rates, spring constant changes? This would tell us if there are any mechanical changes. Sometimes part numbers change for other than functional.

Yes. We continue to receive positive unsolicited comments from others who really seem attracted to it. It's an interesting color with subtle metallic background which takes on different hues based on lighting. Here's an early sunrise, low-light image:

No, not a wrap - that was just another photo-editing hint I keep dropping to BMW M Division asking for a(n) X3MC model with a full aero CFRP roof. Given the taller height and larger roof area of the F97 c/w the M2,3,4,5,8, the beneficial handling/performance effects of a CFRP roof would be even greater in relative terms compared to those lower coupes/sedans. The argument has always been that 'no one takes an SAV to the track or Strip', but our F97/98 threads clearly suggest otherwise.

Back in Dec 2018 I started the campaign ( https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1564722 ), but so far it hasn't worked...

Sharing another from the trip to the river. Since I just have a phone camera which tends to distort the images when close, I've tried to take them from farther away to allow a more realistic view.
