Sayzar Use a pry tool to pop it out. If I remember correctly, the cover has a retaining line that can also come off

my LCI i pushed one of the upper corners and it popped out.

On my X5M, there is a tiny raised area near a corner on each tow eye cover where pressing it will remove the cover. I bet the X3M is the same.
