Carbon Precision Strut now available as free option

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
I see the Carbon Precision Strut is now a no-cost option on the configurator for new F97 and F98 Competitions...

Nice for new customers. Not so great for us early adopters...
Wonder how loud they will laugh if I ask for a free retrofit

Boooo BMW. Boooooo.

Early M car adopters always get screwed one way or another by BMW. They did at least make it clear that the carbon brace would be available later. Just didn't say it was free!

It doesn't appear on the BMW USA Configurator site, so maybe this is only for International orders (I didn't check the X4M Competition, though).

Once it does become available, I wouldn't mind paying for the shipping and local Labor costs if BMW would at least make these available to us early purchasers. They could ship back the nearly new aluminum strut for use in future builds or repairs, so really would seem they wouldn't be out much. And it would be a Goodwill gesture, but again, not holding my breath.

Too bad it wasn't a CF roof, otherwise I will cancel my order and re-order for the 3rd time, lol.

I'd say being an early adopter carries a classic combination of advantages and disadvantages, with advantages being preferred more so. Other wise, one could not be an early adopter.

So it's a no-cost option in regards to the stock alu brace?

For a moment I thought the whole strut came as a no-cost option.

So no big deal really.

Why not just make it standard? And yes retrofits should be free how much does it cost to add later? How much did they originally charge?
