Los Angeles tuners?

Does anyone have recommendations for S58/F97 tuners in the Los Angeles area? I'm considering having flex fuel ethanol monitoring kit installed and a tune put on. I could probably do it myself but I don't want to fuck anything up and I'd rather entrust a pro to do it.

I'm in the same boat as you. In LA and have a 2020 F97 currently running BM3 stage 1 E30 map. Recently purchased the PTF Flexfuel kit and I'm hesitant to install it basically for the same reason as you.

About to start calling some local shops. Have you tried any yet?

I haven't found anyone that specializes in these things, but I have two shops that I go to for work thats over my head on my E46 M3. I use M shop in Eagle Rock for more OEM maintenance related stuff and JMP autowerkz in Canoga Park for more track-related set up stuff. JMP has a dyno (two wheel drive dyno only, unfortunately) and I had Epic do a remote dyno tune at their shop on my E46. Jerick is the main tech there, super nice and extremely knowledgable dude. They haven't worked on an F97 yet, but they've installed fueling upgrades and done dyno tuning on all kinds of platforms. They build full race cars and do crazy swaps so I'm leaning towards using them. They just finished a DCT trans S54 E36 swap track car.

How are you liking the E30 map? Since you're in LA we should meet up. I usually drive Angeles Crest every Sunday in the M3 but now that I have the F97 I want to start bringing that to meets and whatnot.

I'm going to start with AutoTalent in Gardena. I went all the way out to SSR Performance in Orange County for downpipes install & removal in my F80 (last car). They are good, but pricey and it's far.

I love the E30 map - it's an absolute beast. I also recently did the stage 3 XHP trans flash and that made a HUGE difference.

I'm down to meet up... do you go to any meets?

It looks like Autotalent works on nice cars, I'm not seeing any specific work on X3Ms on their insta or website though. I'd be interested to hear how your experience is.

I definitely plan on doing the XHP flash.

I'll DM you about meet ups

Haus of Power in Fullerton seems to have the most experience in So Cal with S58 cars from what I can find:

wow big numbers. What ethanol % is that tuned for? And who installed your flex-fuel kit?

Also where is that AWD dyno?

This was on E65 iirc; it was tuned from E10 up to E85. I installed the flex kit, it's that easy. D-sport dyno in Fountain Valley.

Does the tune actively adjust based on fuel percentage, or does it use one tune if the percentage is >10 or >65, etc? I'm guessing if it drops below a certain percentage is drops down to the next tune?

I've swapped fuel pumps on my E46 before so I think I can manage a flex kit install, but I wouldn't mind paying someone for peice of mind that it's done correctly. The stakes are high.
