If you have changed sparkplugs is this...

...the correct thin wall (wobble head) socket for the B58 plugs. It's for Audi, but looks like it might also work for the X3 M40i.

Thanks a bunch.

I’m sure that’ll work but I returned that one and kept the non swivel version…ordered them both to compare

Given the depth, I preferred the fixed fitting to eliminate the chance of starting a plug off crooked

Thanks for the heads-up, the last thing I need is a stripped plug...wow! It's in my cart already...

You might need a swivel on plug #6, but that’s safer to place between the socket drive and the 3” extension, after you get the plug started by hand

I'm loving my lexivon tools so far.

If ordering anything from fcp, you can get your spark plug socket there too

Off topic but why are you changing spark plugs already? Didn't you get your X3 a year or so ago? Maybe just some serious planning ahead...

You're right, just planning ahead. I gather the parts/tools when on sale and have it all ready when the time comes to replace.

Makes sense. Anyways this thread is good timing for me. I'm knocking on the door of 50k miles but I'm planning to do the spark plugs in the next couple months - I don't see any reason to wait until 60k.
