Wheels bolts - not sure of seat type

Hi,

Long time visitor, first post. Looking for some help, hopefully I have all the details needed.

I am looking for aftermarket bolts but I'm not sure of the seat type.

I have the 21" 726I wheels. I can't find any information whether the wheel bolt seat type should be ball or conical.

If someone can point me in the right direction, that would be much appreciated!

Your gonna need conical, If your unsure you can always take a look at the wheel hole and see that it is shaped like a V.

Plus, if you don't own a Tommy Bar (wheel hanger) it would be a good time to get some. Installing wheels via bolts is much easier with a Tommy Bar (Thread Size: M14 x 1.25).

In the good ol' days...BMW had a wheel hanger (wheel pin) in every trunk tool kit. Long gone are those days now...BMW doesn't even give you a screwdriver anymore.

#12 (PIN) in the e39 5 series tool kit:

Yup. The Good Ole Days.

Purchased my Wheels Hangers from Turner Motorsports. Schwaben M14 X 1.25 for my G02 and M12 X 1.5 for my 2005 ZHP 2 each.

I got my first one from Schwaben, then one for my wife's Audi since they shipped one with her Q5 made out of plastic. I mean really? Then I bought a set of cheap clones, a set of 8 that included 2 for the Audi and 2 for the BMW. TWo work really well for me on my X3, but her 20" wheels are heavy enough and also don't fit on the hub really well, so I use 3 hangers. Makes installing the tires so much easier. I changed over her snows to 3 seasons yesterday and it took me about 90 minutes. That included cleaning the hub faces, giving the suspension and calipers a quick once over, and prepping the 3 season faces. Longer than it used to take me, but at 70 I'm glad I can still do it.

Oh, BTW - if you're taking a tire off and you're worried about it getting away from you and bending a backing plate, etc., replace a couple of bolts with the hangers during the removal. Prevents the problem, plus if you have to smack the tire because its stuck to the hub face, prevents bad things from happening.

There’s hope for me then as well as I’m not too far behind

I was never all that impressed w/ the hangers I have been using; very lightweight aluminum with no provision to grip where needed

I recently found the below pair on Amazon and they are impressive af…highly recommended

I've had good luck with these, but then again I need a set for both cars. So I really only need 4 of the set.

I'm actually thinking about getting this set, which doesn't thread in but simply slides in.

I just got this one from Amazon to keep in the car, it's stainless steel with a gorgeous blue anodized coating about $9.00.
