I refuse to let any valets drive any of my vehicles.
Not only do they mess up your seat, potentially take stuff not bolted down, improperly operate the vehicle, but you also have to wait for them when you are ready to leave. The X3M gear selector works for me, but it is not intuitive. |

I have both the M2C and the X3M and many of the valets here all put the X3M in reverse then pull the parking brake.

I was at a shitty dealer once who was inspecting my car for trade last year, (f80 M3), they parked it, in neutral, I even told him make sure to pull the ebrake because it doesnt go into park unless you tap the button twice. New guy didnt and it luckily just rolled into grass slowly behind it. Luckily the X3M auto parks when you turn it off or hit the brake.

I would never let a valet touch my car. Just personal preference that won't change anytime soon. They have very little respect for high quality machines like these.

I went to one place and ended up having to park across the street because they would not let me park it by myself in their lot. Interestingly, some people see valet as some sort of high society privilege. There is a mall around me who has it. Meanwhile, I park as far away as possible while still being in the mall |

I valeted my STi once, and will never do it again. Not a bad experience, but I don't like other people parking next to me, much less actually driving my vehicle.

I always park my cars;I'll slip the valet a $20(maybe a $50 depending where we are lol)and valet it myself&keep the keys in my pocket. Never had an issue.
My nephew was a valet when we were back in NY,I saw the vids and heard the stories of what they'd do when something fast pulled in. Especially if it was a high-end catered affair at a private residence.
