Hi everyone,
I took delivery of an M3C recently and my wife now wants a X3M . I know that some of the builds after mine were affected a lot by supply chain issues. My car lost the wireless charging and in car wifi. Not sure how X3M production was affected.
Are there any major items dropped that I should be aware of? We would be ordering.

I did read somewhere that some BMWs might even ship without touchscreens which is a huge but I guess just make sure with sales or else if the car does arrive and agreed items were not included just reject delivery.

X3M was not affected (yet) by the touchscreens and I heard the adaptive cruise that was missing on early 2022 models is coming back in March, so that is worth waiting for potentially. Digital keycard I think is still not available.

X5 production went a few weeks without touchscreens in the fall. Weird times we're living in.

No laser headlights for X3M. Just kidding, I don't thing States side is getting those which would be awesome with blue lenses.

X3MC is missing only the digital key.
Was told that X3M40i is missing the lumbar support on front passenger side.

I was kind of surprised that there was no laser lights and that was part of the reason I posted here. Got me thinking that maybe those were pulled because of supply chain issues.

So it sounds like there is not much that has been pulled from current X3M / X4M builds.

That's missing on LCI X3M as well. Saw on youtube reviews that phones were overheating and not charging fast so BMW ditched it for 2022 model year on these. It maybe across all models.

I was less than impressed w that feature on my '20 M550i; didn't really charge and like you mentioned,phone got real hot.

Actually prefer the USB-C port on my LCI to charge the iPhone

As for the the other models,been waiting since August for my wife's 430i to arrive,vaguely recall my CA mentioning no wireless tray available for this model year or any others

It isn't the touchscreen that is affected, but the touch function of the iDrive controller.

I ordered an X3M last week: no wireless charging and therefore no access to car via phone/nfc, no digital display key, limited bluetooth functionality (no carplay until software upgrade somewhen in June).

I also checked for a X3 40i, same there + no lumbar support on passenger side.

One thing to note - NFC and connectivity are not married to the wireless charger function. My X5 came without wireless charging, but still has everything else including the NFC radio.

One last question. When is the MY23 X3MC released? June timeframe? Asking since we would pull trigger around June/July this year and might as well get new model year.

No 2022 X3 will have the wireless charging or the digital key. This is something that I believe was even removed from the ordering guide for 22.

There have been certain times you could not get some items yet the next week you could. In August I was told my X3 M40i would not get the extended shadow line or the HK system. I know someone else who’s was built 2 weeks before mine and he got the HK but not the extended shadow line. Even the X3M was missing the extended shadow line for a couple weeks.

From what I’ve read the X3 will keep the touchscreen for 22.

Luckily I was able to get everything I wanted in my X3 M Comp. Build date was 12/4/21

Nobody is missing anything with BMW Digital Key. My 2021 M3C had it and it was a hassle. There is a delay between when you touch the handle with the phone and when it actually unlocks (significant delay). THEN you have to put the phone in the charging tray to start the car, cannot leave the phone in your pocket. Digital Key won't be useful until all cars use Digital Key 2.0 that relies on proximity (so you don't have to take it out of your pocket). In actuality, the delay between when you touch the handle with the phone is about as long as the delay you experience when you unlock the car from the My BMW app (which ALL cars have). As of now, Digital Key is basically only useful as a second key for when you forget you key, etc.

It would have been a good backup key in case losing the physical key on a roller coaster, a hike etc or far away from home where most spares are kept. When we go on a driving ski trip or road vacay I make my wife carry the spare in case I lose it on a lift or something. Very unlikely but in those scenarios it would be handy and no need to carry the spare. I could also use it when I drive to a place to start a road bike ride and then don't have to carry the actual key in my back jersey pocket where is it crowded by gels, phone etc.

What on earth is NFC radio? In my understanding, the NFC reader was linked to the fact of having a charging pad. If that’s not the case/or the QI charger simply had it but you don’t necessarily need the charger to have it, even better!

NFC radio = NFC reader. It is actually separate from the charging pad, or at least BMW is getting the same piece with the NFC component, but sans the charging pad.

when I was ordering my x3mc last month I saw the list of supply chain restrictions on the CA's computer. he said that effective March production, the x3ms will not have the 360 view due to chip shortage and there were a few other minor items being affected as well. I'm hoping my build squeaked under the line and I got one of the last #60 chips but will have to wait and see.

I ordered a 22 x4mc ending of OCT and delivered beginning of FEB. I live in Hawaii so it takes awhile to get here. I also ordered tartufo interior so that may have delayed build a little too.

I ordered comp, exec, driving assistance pro and ventilated seats.

I didn't get wireless charging pad, digital key and adaptive led headlights which I already knew. Everything was delivered as built on BMWUSA website including the HK sound. I think if the feature is there to add to build then it's available. I read on here that some are getting ps4 tires. Mine came with contis. I financed with BMW 1.9% for 5 years. 20k down. $500 off MSRP of 86k. Good Luck!

sorry, don't remember...I should have taken a photo but I was too excited about finally putting my order in. I do remember the CA said even Brooklyn Grey would be unavailable for some cars but x3m wasn't affected. i will see if I can get the list. the list wasn't just x3m... it included other cars as well. I believe the track timer/software was on the x3m list.

Not the case. X3 M allocation for April production has the 360 cameras available as well as the Drive Recorder
