BMW X3M service pack

Hi all,

Just wondering has anyone went for the BMW service package with the car or just paying as per required?
Is it saving money to get it, will likely only be keeping car for 3 years anyway so wondering of it is worth it.

They dont do a service pack anymore. £45 a month but its transferable to other cars if you sell. Not worth it in my opinion.

I did the maths on here a while ago and it made loads of sense unless you plan to change brand next.

Decent savings.

Hi moff,

I guess the maths work better if you stay with BMW but assuming if I plan to keep for the term - 48 months (next week pickup). Approx 7k miles a year max.

If I can get the RIS for max 450, the other two services would have to cost £1200 - I can imagine the oil service @ 15k miles being same as RIS.. major service the car maybe on its way back and costing over £720?

I have the following from BMW service website: (not sure how RIS is due now - haven't picked it up yet but its a pre reg in November)

Running In Service
Due: December 2019
£390.85

Oil & Microfilter: 15,000 miles / 24 months
Service Due: November 2021

Major Service: 30,000 miles / 48 months
Service Due: November 2023

RIS for £390? Is that a 'menu'price or special deal you have negotiated?

hi Rich that is what it defaults to price wise via a service plan if you put your car details here. i suspect you can remove this if you want the service plan minus the RIS. i've heard some folk (m3cutters) etc have managed to negotiate RIS for 350 with a few select dealers,

default RIS is £492 (in Scotland anyway)

Best i could get was £450 after haggling and explaining prices folk were getting on here.

The service plan works for me as I do 10k per annum.

And yes £50-£100 saving just on the RIS.

I will get the next 2 services so will save £200 or so.

Yep i managed to get the RIS down to £445 with Sytner but then took up the service plan and it reduced to £390.

Thanks guys. See what you mean moff you can change the quote with or without RIS.

Still tempted to do it as I hate calling and negotiating service prices at least the that hassle is removed. Also never mind mileage I will still be on the hook for the 48 months major service as the car was a pre reg.

I guess I could ensure I got shot of the car before then tho.

405 down and 27 x 45 is tempting for full or 36 x 35 without.

Look at these prices!

However if I can get shot of car before nov 2023 I won’t need the major service and I may travel to get cheap RIS. Pickup from bath bmw who have promised a decent RIS price as part of deal.

Also in year 4 AFAIK you can get BMW value service so about 1/2 price. Don't think SP is worth it for me especially if I can get a decent RIS price.

It's all part and parcel of ownership of an a M car. I'm fully aware this won't be cheap to run but I do limited mileage and have factored in the cost.

The RIS link for £350 was posted by me, Rybrook Warwick will honour it if you say Mike sent you and book with Anthony only

As this was a forum negotiated discount I hope it will be similar for the other services

Just booked mine for next week at £400. Originally Williams BMW wanted £488. I haggle over everything at BMW even parts. I normally get about 20%-30% off by doing this. They are in competition with other BMW garages. Got gap and alloy wheel insurance for £800 when I got the car. Last year I purchased a full carbon kit msport kit for a g30 rrp was over £3.5k after haggling I paid around £2.5k. Just haggle they want your business! 😁
