Yes, Both 235/50 and 225/55 are better alternate sizes to look at, both of which have a decent selection of winter tires. If anything, it's going to be the rim that's hard to find. Unless you guys want to spend $500 a rim from BMW, finding a 19x7.5J or 19x8J rim for a reasonable price seems to be pretty hard. |

For anyone who missed it, you can also go to the official BMW USA accessory site and they've got some winter set options. Looks like you can get a decent wheel and tire set for under $2k with free shipping. Descriptions say they come pre installed and balanced so you can just bolt them on.

Apparently these things can't get shipped. Even if they could I don't think I can take advantage of it since I'm in Canada..

If I select 'customer pickup' I can choose the local dealer, I presume they'll ship there. |

Do you have a US address you can ship to near the border. You might pay duty coming back but overall it's cheaper than the dealer quote in Canada unless you negotiate on price.

I like that 18s can go on there for nasty winter potholes. I will ask for a quote tomorrow. Maybe they will be on sale during Black Friday |

X3 will start production Wednesday. If it doesn't then it probably won't start until November 29th. I called and left a v-mail with the Tire Rack contact listed in the E90/F30 forum. I wonder what they will say. |

I would not hold my breath on TireRack. They did not have winter solutions for my 335GT for over a year after the car came to market.
The US price is very interesting, I may go for a shopping trip in my GT before the X3 arrives in the new year. |

I don't think it will be cheaper than you buy it at local dealer, the custom boarder will charge you a lot of tax especially when the parts is not made within Canada, USA and Mexico. There's link you can estimate your tax online

Add duty $290 Add HST to both US purchase $C 3646.54 Canadian purchase $C 4,718.88 Add cost of hotel, meal and gas driving to US dealer $200 Still a savings of $C 872.34 I would rather that be in my pocket than in BMW Canada's |

I might just go for a 235/50R19 Pirelli Scopions on this rim. https://pmctire.com/en/wheels/replik...deport-35.tire Full set incl TPMS sets me back about CAD$2.2k~ |

Looking at the winter options now for Nokian 19 or 20" R2's there aren't any run flats and I may have to go non RFT. But I have some time to figure that out. |
