I noticed almost everyone is getting longer quality checks, I hope that means less breakdowns in the future. The 2022 production wasnt as long for qc check.

Mine went from entering production line to awaiting carrier assignment overnight. Extra speedy!

By all the posts im reading your car will go in production on that exact date. I assume your order is so late as your dealer had allocation for a late model build.
My dealer claims he got no allocation for several months. Even though I was first in line for a 2022 car, the lack of allocation eventually pushed the order to 2023 production.

I went in 6 months before my current 330xi lease ended looking for an X3. When the standard model didn't offer parking assistance and HK I decided to order the M40 model.

So that's my story.

Are you ordering a X4? X4 seems moving generally slower but still on schedule, week 32, ProdDate: 8/13, status 150 also.

Looking at everyone's sharing, feels like as soon as we hit the ProdDate, things are moving relatively fast. My CA told me to use ProDate + 10 as the ETA for pick up.

Talked to Genius... Same story: the car stuck in quality check most likely because of part shortage... Hopefully it won't take too long... Need to be patient, it's been only second day in quality check.

I'm not sure what's happening in Chicagoland with allocations now, but when I started shopping back in June I talked to all dealers in Chicagoland and even Wisconsin. Put deposit with two dealers. I was first in line for 2023 with one and 4th with another. Both called the same day when allocations came out and said each had one available for me. I went with the one that I was 4th in line and they've been great so far. My point, we have a lot of dealers in the area, call around.

I had the same allocation story, about 6 months and I was not first in line. Entered assembly today.

I haven't posted for awhile , but today I jumped from Entering Assembly Line (153), to Awaiting Carrier Assignment (182) overnight! I called the Genius line and found out the carrier is a truck and that my car is due at my dealer by 8/17. She also said they have been experiencing delays and it could take up to a week longer...8/25 time frame. It's still faster than I expected just a couple weeks ago.

It's been my morning routine to check every day for the past 3 weeks I'm in the same situation and got bumped up to 8/12 from 8/15. My status was "Entering Assembly Line" yesterday afternoon and it jumped to "Quality Check" this morning. Things seem to be moving quick!

I must've gotten really lucky with my allocation then because when I cancelled my G80 order, I told my CA to put an order in for the X3 M40i. I sent him the build I wanted and he said "ok, I'll submit a request for an allocation and let you know". I think it was maybe a month later he called me to say it's been accepted and it's scheduled for Week 32.

This all happened in mid/late June and I got scheduled around mid July.

When I went to in to talk to my dealer, I straight up said, you better have an allocation coming up soon or we aren't doint this. They had one for the following month so here we are.

Definitely, I dropped a dealer bc the allocation they gave me was so far out. Called around to 5+ dealers and one of them had allocation that was pending to go into production and I just ordered last week and it goes into production end of next week. But it took a lot of calling and emailing to get reps to reveal what the "status" of the build was before i placed a deposit.

I spoke to the dealer in June about the lack of allocations. He told me that BMW only built 38 2022 X3 M40's in that month. 38 for whatever area the SC plant covers!
When 2023 allocations opened up I'm guessing they are building more than 38.

My CA just updated me and picking up today might not be an option. They received over 50 cars between yesterday and this morning that needed to be inspected. Hopefully it'll be ready by tomorrow or Sunday.

I am dropping one dealer as well since they always ghosted my question or request throughout this time, plus I got a better offer from another dealer.

Now I asked for a refund of my deposit and they told me they will only refund when the car is sold to someone else. Does that sounds right to y'all? I was more expecting a regular/straightforward refund…

Definitely doesn't sound right. Either they are going to refund you or not it shouldn't be dependent upon a future sale. I'd let then know they can process a refund immediately or you'll be filing a BBB complaint and contacting the AG in your state.

I hate being that person but they aren't being reasonable already why do the back and forth

Checked this morning and saw I'm still in Status 150 but looking closer, my Prod Date moved up from 08/17 to 08/16. Celebrate the small victories, eh?

Cheers~
