Issues with HUD
Hello X3ers,
The other day my HUD just went totally berserk and flashing lines. Annoyed, I drove the car home and undid the battery over night. The next day I got in and now there are lines going across the whole HUD but not flashing as the were before. The lines shift depending whats on the HUD, seem to only be there while driving, and they change position with hard acceleration, braking, and hard turning. Very odd. Any suggestions or thoughts of whats going on please let me know! I tried cleaning the projector, resetting the module with bimmer code, and disconnecting the battery overnight again. Pics attached

never seen anything like this with my HUD. Has any work been done on the X3 lately where its possible a connector for the HUD could have been unplugged and then not plugged in fully? Or has the X3 been in an accident?
From what you describe, my guess is you have faulty unit. Hope you can get the dealer to replace it under warranty.

Thank you for your replies!
I will pull the current HUD out and clean the connections and then re attach it to the car ensuring that the connections are good n tight. I'd rather live with the lines then spend $500 on a new unit. I know these things are pretty robust, mine in the E60 M5 after close to a decade looks as it did the day it came from the factory. I am hopeful a connecter wiggled loose
