I just ordered the v1 gen 2 .. they both had good reviews but what tipped me towards the v1 gen 2 was Bluetooth connectivity… the uniden does not have Bluetooth so everything has to be done direct on the device

Highly recommend the V1 Driver app to anyone getting a V1 Gen2. I rarely ever even need to mute anything manually. And by that I mean I only mute when I'm on the freeway and there's a LEO somewhere and I mute him until we pass. Never get any K or anything lower (turned off X band as useless in CA)

How are people using BT with their car but not having your V1 connect to your phone and the app. I’m basic and want to see the alters in the c1 detector itself and not the App/iPhone

You need to change settings. You have it set to turn off the display and show only in the app. I don't use the actual V1 app. I use V1Driver. You should check it out if you drive often and use your radar often.

Uniden R7
Arriving tomorrow.
Got 2 tickets past 6 months.
1 was dismissed last thursday.
Next court day is December. Hopefully same outcome.
Waze and Uniden should help a lot

Thought I would people are buying these days?

I picked up a R8, but I am in multiple states each week and wonder if the max 360c might be better.

I've been running the uniden r8 for the past month and have grown to enjoy the long distance sensitivity.

I also haven't had any issues with the gesture control.

I see more state troopers with the long guns that I assume are laser. I've read that they can tell they're being jammed.

Occasionally I'll see the smaller radar guns pointed at me by cops hiding in highway cutouts.

How does running a combo of radar and laser jamming save you from getting a ticket? Honest question. Isn't it stressful cruising at 90-100 mph?

How is everyone hiding wires? any suggestions?
I haven't run a radar in years but thinking of buying one reasonably price used to play it safe

I was considering cordless S4 Escort too but have read mixed things

Route up headliner and down right A pillar behind air bag and down to BDC for ignition switched power.

Can’t you just tap into a wire in the rear view mirror cluster, like a reading lamp wire or something? That’s how I hardwired V1 in both my e46 and e90 M3’s. Followed a DIY guide posted here, eons ago obv. On/off with ignition.

You could but those use pins shoved into the back of another connector which is not secure enough for my liking. I have pins installed into the BDC so all I did was add a fuse. Install looks full OEM.

Uniden R3. I've used the R3 and R7 and I think I prefer the R3. Great detector and smaller footprint under the mirror with a Blendmount.
