I found out about this car from my sales person a week before it arrived. It was supposed to be one of those dealer use cars from the computer. I got lucky because I was considering an X3M40i since it was cheaper and my M340ix had the same spec so I thought that would be just fine.
Anyways found out about the car on Friday, got pre approval, paid $2000 deposit to lock in the car in my name and the car arrived this past Monday. I am Reno, Nevada and the car was in Murrieta, California, about an 8 hour drive. So I drove on Wednesday, left home around 5 am and got there around 1pm. Inspected the car and then we went to turn in my lease, signed some papers, then went into finance and signed all the docs, the whole process probably took two hours including porting my bmw profile from my old car to the new car. After that, thanked my sales guy and headed to the nearest Home Depot's which was 5 mins away. I bought some blue painters tape and spent an hour to wrap the whole front of the car, trust me it was the most ghetto thing I've ever done in my life, but when driving 8 hours through elements and mountains you can definitely see why I did it. I didn't want a rock chip to ruin my front of the car before I could have a clear bra put on. The dealership didn't have any clear bra partners so I had to go to plan b lol. Glad I did use the painters tape because 8 hours later the tape was filled with bugs and the lower part of the car catches many micro rocks from the road. Only took 15 minutes to take off the tape and the car looked brand new! No adhesive was left behind! The following morning took it to a detail shop to have them do nice wash and do a quick polish and no wax since I was going to have the car clear bra. I was blown away from the M car, this was truly a step up from the mperformance car I drove. The attention to detail bmw gave the X3M is truly impressive. They put alcantara on the side of the center console so that your knees if they ever hit them it would hit that instead of hard plastic. The exhaust had a very deep note, sounds sweet! I am not into mods, I will keep most of the stuff as is with the exception of the middle console which is piano black. I intend to purchase the carbon fiber middle console that @danniexi posted on the other thread. Sorry about the long write up! I will report back in a few weeks/month and let you all know how things are. But so far I am very pleased with the car! Driving a true M car has been a dream of mine and I am super happy that now I own a true M car! |

@IcEWolF I absolutely love your spec. Those wheels are
How is the ride in comfort mode? I have the ‘22 M40i with DWS 06+ and in comfort mode the ride is still pretty firm. I’ve had opportunities to buy X3 M’s over the years but the trade off in day to day ride quality has always held me back. Please share your initial impressions!

Went in reverse. Sold my x3m prior to lease end. Didn't want to deal with Long term maintenance. And although it was the most fun I ever had with a car it was very impractical for me and my family. Maybe once the kids are older and have their own cars I will get back into an M car Enjoy the new car. She's gorgeous |

I leased my m340ix, the dealership let me upgrade 4 months early by waiving the last 4 months payments. If the lease numbers weren't so bad I would have leased vs financing it. I share the same sentiments with you regarding the maintenance costs. But once I get close to the warranty end and depending if I run into any major issues I might keep it long term. |
