As opposed to an intolerable level? I don't think I've ever really thought about the volume of the turn signals. Is it configurable or something?

here's my stupid question... I've been searching and cant find any info on this

I've got some black grilles on order to make up for the extended shadowline delete, does anyone know is it possible to update the appearance in my garage / my bmw app to match or will I forever be haunted by the chrome?

The mirror thing is frustrating but apparently 'they are all like that'

Are you able, via BimmerCode, to have the rear lights as drl's too?

The sliding covers silver “handle” IF PUSHED UP with a finger tip WILL EASILY “UNLOCK” and slide. Pushing on the black cover will NOT work.
PUSH UP FROM THE SILVER HANDLE…. Don’t push from anywhere else and all should be ok.

You just ruined my night… Had not thought about this yet but if there is no way to change the look it will drive me crazy.

In my 2019 X3 and my wife's 2020 X1 the click of the turn signal is extremely loud. In the 2022 X3 its much lower. It is not configurable.

Agreed. I tried it today. You can also sort of grab and pull up towards the roof on the chrome piece and it will unlatch. Then slide the cover.

Weird. Didn’t realize they were a different volume in other cars/years.

Where is the oil stick?

Don't need an answer (I know it) just contributing.

Ohhhhhh now that just PISSES me off. Now that the OP has raised this for sure I will obsess over this when I get mine :-/

Like the dude who mentioned the seat rattle when you first get in. Never noticed it until that came up.

Life, don't talk to me about life ...
Holy hell!!! YOU MEAN OTHERS HAVE THAT DAMN SEAT RATTLE WHEN THEY FIRST HOP IN TOO??!! Drives me insane!! But dealer couldn't replicate and I knew right away it was something I'd just have to live with. A special quirk of my X4 so to speak. Not sure if I'm happy or sad others have this too… 🤷🏻*♂️

current situation - every time I use remote start the steering wheel heat comes on even though I have the climate control rules set to a lower temp than current. If I just start the car the traditional way it does not (unless the set temp is reached, as expected)

it's annoying me and I cant find a way to keep it from happening... anyone know?

It seems to me that the cover "latches" into place by design. When you fully close the cover, the forward end drops and latches for a tighter hold. I have found that pushing back on the silver tab on the cover releases the hold. Then you push back. Easy and effortless. Doing this, I have no problems opening and closing and it seems a clever design.

Edit - I was late to the party, but I will leave my comment...rob175 is describing the process that I use.

I’ve noticed that, too. It definitely seems to be temperature dependent though, because when I was remote starting my car in the summer it didn’t turn on. But I guess the temperature settings are completely separate from the ones that you can set in the I-Drive. It also will turn on your climate control system if it was turned off when the car was stopped. It kind of just seems to have a mind of its own.

My stupid question is:-
Is there any real world test out there for the X3 3.0D and the X3 M4.0D
I have looked and cant find a thing. Just want to know if it is worth spending the extra £1000s on the M4.0D

Why did bmw decide THAT was the best place for the oil filter on the B58… it was perfectly accessible on the N55….

2020 G01 Owner - Newbie Stupid Question (s)

I bought this vehicle from the estate of the deceased PO, and no one can help with the learning curve.
Was remote start a special order option?
Same question for active cruise control.
Like all BMWs, the passenger mirror shows a good view of the tire track when in reverse - how do I adjust that?
How to get driver presets to change when I enter the car? Wife and I have separate keys, driving positions, etc.
Is using the dealer Genius a warranty resource, or pay as you go?
I'm still trying to translate the owner manual, and will never again curse the person who wrote my XT5 manual! This X3 manual is a trip!
Thanks for any help!
Regards,
Steve

I originally had a 30d on order but the options I wanted got deleted. Upgraded to a 40d with more options, and bizarrely got a higher discount and a higher GTV, which meant my PCP cost was less for the 40d.

A question I almost asked bit figured out just in time: if your mirror adjustment button is switched to the passenger mirror, it will not auto-tilt to the curbvisibility when reversing ... I thought it was a software or hardware issue ...

Hey Bubba- Here are answers to your questions:

1. Was remote start a special order option? OPTIONAL
2. Same question for active cruise control- OPTIONAL
3. Like all BMWs, the passenger mirror shows a good view of the tire track when in reverse - how do I adjust that? TILT DOWN FEATURE CANNOT BE TURNED OFF TO MY KNOWLEDGE WITHOUT CODING
4. How to get driver presets to change when I enter the car? Wife and I have separate keys, driving positions, etc. RE-PROGRAM BOTH FOB’s
5. Is using the dealer Genius a warranty resource, or pay as you go? A BMW GENIUS REFERS TO A BMW EXPERT WHO SERVES AS A RESOURCE FOR OWNER MANUAL TYPE INFORMATION, BMW SERVICE HANDLES WARRANTY RELATED DETAIL, YOUR 2020 SHOULD STILL BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY…IF NOT PAY AS YOU GO

Remote start is only available on 2022+. I think they were asking about a 2020 vehicle.

As for the passenger mirror, I do not know for sure, but while it is tilted down, try adjusting the position. It may save that position for future tilts. That is how it has worked for me in other vehicles but I have not tried it in the X3. If you do not want it to tilt, just move the mirror switch to the passenger position as I believe it will only tilt when set to the driver position.

BMW was saying that it was supplier related, I believe. Like most of the delays and deleted options it could be due to chip shortage, supplier/shipping delays, paint issues, etc.
