I do wish it had a better auto-dimming feature. I often want it pretty bright during the day, but more dim than it is at night, but there is no way am I paging through menus every day.
I have an x3 m40i in production. So I can't try this yet, and didn't have HUD on my last BMW, but could you program one of the 8 presets to this menu so you could easily adjust your HUD brightness?

It would make sense that you you can program a button to get to that selection.

I have one for A/C sync and one for trailer mode.

I confirmed that you can't program the HUD brightness setting. You can program the HUD ON/OFF to a preset should you want to do that.
Oh that's a bummer. I thought it was worth a try.

That's so weird, you can absolutely adjust the brightness on the F25.

I edited my original post, but to clarify the HUD brightness is adjustable in the main settings but you can't program the HUD brightness to one of the presets. Hope that helps. I'm thinking the presets if saving like a car function/setting can only be like an on/off function.

I can confirm I have one of my presets that takes me to HUD settings, and with a click I've changed the HUD brightness, this is 2022 LCI, may be different with previous version.

I set this up with my pre-LCI (MY 2020) too.

Mine is F25 I do believe.

Is it really an useful feature? If so, is it possible to get as a standalone feature (like Navigation) instead of Premium Tier as I really dont need
Heated front seats, Heated Steering wheel since I live in an area which is not that cold. I believe I can get Advanced RTI if I select Driving Assistance Option. I am not sure what is Remote Services and probably I dont need it.

If I had to go with Premium Tier package, I would need to shell out additional $1600 and I am wondering if it is that justifiable feature?
Remember if you wear polarised sunglasses HUD won’t be visible!

I wear polarized sunglasses and have HUD in my car. Whenever I need to see any information on HUD, I just tilt my head slightly to left or right and that is enough to make HUD visible again. More to tilt, the clearer the HUD image becomes, but usually a subtle tilt is all that it takes for reading what you want to check. Its not the solution, but it lets me enjoy my favorite sunglasses when I out driving on the roads in sunny days and still keep using HUD.

There are claims from people that have had their windshield tinted this is no longer an issue.

Not sure what logic lies behind this, but I am getting my windows tinted to include my windshield next Friday.

search for 'Bavarian Coding' on Facebook 😉
Located in Southampton I believe.
I think it is possible it is vorph who used to be on this forum. Whoever a coding guru.
I guess he changed the VO, injected a FSC code to enable it.
