X3 F25 N55 [Stalling on Cold Start] [Live Data/Video/ISTA+]
Hello everyone! Video below with 3 view angles at the same time. I cant figure it out can someone point me in the right direction? Is this a O2 sensor pre cat? Open Loop on the O2 sensor is fine, and idles down correctly as well.
Symtoms Stalling on Cold Start Rough Idle - Low Speed/Idle Lurching and loss of power All gears affected at low speeds, N, P , R, D Collected Diagnostics Video Almost completely stalls at 1:29 in the video. Any help would be much much appreciated, thanks in advance! Last edited by mikekay; 08-02-2022 at 11:55 AM.. |

Welp since no one knows, I ordered a new O2 sensor and will be dropping the muffler, or trying from up top and documenting for some other person with the same problem.

Look in the F30 section, not too many of us out there with X3's on the forums that actually post.
Google your symptoms + 335i or something, that's how I've solved quite a bit. |

Thanks Mwat! I couldn't really find much so I ventured out on my own
I wanted to post an update and link some pictures. I have dropped the muffler to gain access to the pre-cat sensor. the o2 sensor plugs are located in the far left of the engine bay (passenger side) and are under the airflow tubing. Also its much easier to remove the whole bracket and then pop the rear out of the rubber grommets. And lastly there is a bracket in picture three that has a hidden female torx up top so dont forget to release that one. |

I did have an issue after I replaced my charge pipe with a VRSF one where the car would stall after about 30 seconds of being on. Cold start it would idle for a bit longer but once mildly warm it would stall very quickly. Worked on it for a week, redid the charge pipe 5 times, nothing. Sent it down to a buddy of mine with a shop, he reset adaptations and it fired right up and hasn't had any issues since. Maybe it's something like that? |

Reset the adaptations damn didnt think of that!
But I had already ISTA was giving me codes due to abnormal voltage drops :/ had it been a codeless situation Im sure that would have worked! Are you saying you have no o2 sesors at all? Last edited by mikekay; 08-11-2022 at 03:36 PM.. |
