Option deletions due to component shortages

Hi,
My car is on the slow boat from China. Genius has advised that I have the following deletions:
- Lumbar width support
- Boot comfort access
- Touch input on iDrive dial

Has anyone that has had their car delivered, had any of these rectified by the dealer once the car was in the UK?

Thanks.

No, those are all permanent deletions. Wifi/apple CarPlay was the temp deletion being rectified on arrival.

That doesn't sound right...

Don’t you just twist the idrive control for zoom and click left/right/up/down for pan? I’d have thought that was easier?

Twist for zoom, yes. But have been missing the pan option on the scroll wheel.

Didn't cross my mind to pan using the directional tilt ! DOOHHH !

Thank you for enlighten me 😉

Hello,

I'm going to follow this thread with interest because these deletions have happened with my order too, so BimmerStanMan, you aren't alone on this.

Obviously everyones purchasing circumstances are different, but I'll be going to use these deletions as a negotiating tool if the dealership tries to alter my part exchange allowance too much.

Many thanks,

I think it’s more about limiting the number of chips used!

Perhaps some of the options is possible to retrofit later on?

Never used the touch on the iDrive. Lumbar passengers has been on deletion for yonks, on almost all models

Hi all,
New to the forum and looking forward to getting my iX3 M Sport Pro in early October. Suspect its on the Grand Vega.

I’ve been told by BMW Genius that I have 3 deletions due to component shortages; deletion of passenger lumbar support, deletion of idrive touch and deletion of comfort access tailgate.

For those who have similar deletions, can you help to set my mind at rest? BMW Genius are saying that the entire touch screen will be deleted- is it not just the touch pad on the idrive selector?

Additionally, can anyone confirm does deletion of comfort access tailgate just remove the foot kick to open option? Will i still be able to open/close tailgate electronically via the key?

Thanks in advance. I have asked the dealer, but they are really slow at getting back to me and not much help so far at all!

my car has been ordered since March and I already know that these three options will be deleted, in addition to the delays we still lost options that were requested, in some places BMW is refunding money for these items, but for example kick foot tailgate does I miss it a lot because I have two small children and a lot of things to carry, the minimum was for BMW to make a recall to put the option...

My understanding is that it is just the touch pad on top of the iDrive dial.

Also, only the loss of motion sensor under boot for kick access. You will still have use of button on fob and driver door switch.

My touch screen works fine, just the touch sensitive pad on top of the controller that has gone.

And yes, just the motion sensor for the boot that has gone, all button/key options will work fine. That said, my car has the motion sensor for the boot and it has worked about 25% of the time that I’ve tried it!
