I noticed on Octopus Energy that there is a new tariff available called 'Intelligent Octopus', does this mean they are getting rid of 'Octopus Go'? The new tariff appears to be the same as 'Octopus Go' but you get a longer 'off peak' rate of 6 hours;
Unit rate (23:30 - 05:30): 7.50p/ kWh Unit rate (05:30 - 23:30): 37.00p/ kWh Standing Charge: 47.31p/ day Anybody have or looked into these home battery kits, where you can charge up cheap and run the house from the battery during the day when the electricity rate is high, meaning you only ever use off peak rate electric, but of course they aint cheap to buy and have installed.

I suspect that Octopus Intelligent will takeover from Go/Go Faster in time. Sadly, it is limited to certain EVSEs and EV manufacturers. To date, BMW is not on the list. There is also an ongoing issue with the BMW iX3 re ‘start/stop’ charging. If the frequency of cycles is too great then the computer goes into a 12VDC battery protection mode ( charge delayed) and it sheds ‘non-essential’ electrics: this includes starting a charge. The charge can only be re-initiated by pulling/re-inserting the charging plug. 12VDC battery protection has beeen standard on all the BMWs that I have owned in the past 20 years.

Didn’t want to start a new thread. Just signing up for Octopus. First person who wants to post their referral code gets £50 on me (well, on Octopus)…
