I'm done with this ... I believe we had the discussion some time back on the wiper AUTO function on previous gen you could still do a +1 flick, the new one not possible due to the stalk position (unless you disable AUTO then go back which is a ball ache).

My question, therefore, is - is there any software update for the windscreen wipers? I know it's a stupid idea but it's my only hope of these bloody infuriating wipers going hell for leather on max speed when there are a few drops, to no wipes at all (or, at an extremely sedate pace) when the screen has drops on it (many). Yes of course I tried adjusting the speed setting, it's next to useless. Drives me batty.

I'd be quite happy to bin the auto wiper and just be able to adjust the delay via the control on the right stalk.

One trick I've been doing since the E92 days is I finagle with the sensitivity scroll bar if I want the wipers to swipe (move the adjustment one tick up/down). Not ideal, but it tricks the blades to wipe lol.

Same. Been doing it for 4 bmws now. I do miss the push down with this X3 though. Silly we can't have the button for auto wipers.

I agree, I think my 2015 M3 was the last one that still had the side pushbutton for rain sensing. Even the wife's G05 has reverted back to the goofy arm position for auto (which is dangerous because she goes to touchless car washes and probably forgets to turn off the auto wipe).

Yup, I did the same thing in my E93 and now on my G01. If the wipers are not currently activated but you increase the sensitivity of the auto function using small adjuster inside the wiper stalk then they will do one wipe. Decreasing sensitivity does not produce the same effect.

So if I want a single wipe I just flick that small toggle switch up one notch (and back down).
