I feel sorry for that poor web developer who pushed his github staging repo live a little prematurely, probably had to do a whole AWS code pipeline redeploy just to exclude that one slide from the leaderboard slideshow.

So, at least on the outside, this isn’t much of an update. The inside should get some changes, though, with newer iDrive tech and maybe some new trim bits.”

I don't think the lack of change in exterior styling is unfortunate at all. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. It's already a beautiful vehicle, why mess it up just for the sake of change. The real LCI improvements I'm looking for are in the bits and pieces, like the iDrive update, and maybe a little interior design change, like the gearshift. LCI should mean improvement, not just change. Lets make it more functional.

Agreed. I'm not sure why people think that they would (or should) make major changes to the best selling car in its segment.

Personally, I like the current x3 gearshift over the plain Jane one in my 2020 X5. I also prefer the start button on the dash (easier to find and a natural arm extension)verses on the console. The funny thing is every time I switch cars I am looking down and up to find the button!

I agree. I've spent extensive seat time in the x5 and I'd take our interior 10 times out of 10. The new interior just feels (and looks) cheap and flimsy IMO. I guess we are in the minority though.

Yes, that is exactly what I was referring to. My understanding is that this is supposed to be in the LCI (at least I am hoping it is).

Thanks for the explanation guys. I'm not sure why this would be important other than to pull the car over to the side of the road and shut it off when someone is texting and driving. All cars should do that!

From new leaked pictures, this one makes a lot more sense, slightly bigger grille, different side vents, how BMW integrated the front camera to the grille is interesting.
