Mirror folding function not working on passenger side

Hi
I have a 2012 x3 in uk and my passenger mirror has just stopped folding in when button pressed. All other functions of mirror work fine (you can adjust it any direction)
When the button is pressed, you can't hear any motor attempting to turn.
Drivers side working fine.
Any ideas on how to fix would be great.
Thanks
Steve

Hi Steve, I have the same issue. Also from the UK. I've tried WD40 in the housing but nothing. Let me know if you fix it. Nad

Will do. I was hoping someone would reply and say it's a fuse or something. There's so many on this car, it's unbelievable.
Was gonna try something like wd40 at first but because I couldn't hear the motor at all, I guessed it wouldn't have helped

Use a voltmeter and schematic to diagnose. Having the other side working is a bonus since you can compare the working side to the non-working side.

@pungo Does the door card have to come off or is it if I'm just removing the mirror? I've tried to search on here but the comments are for replacing mirror.
How do I get to wires?
If there is power, what could be wrong?
If there isn't power, what could be wrong?
This car is relatively new to me and my first bmw so still learning.
Thanks

Ya both of our mirrors aren't folding. Pressing the button makes a click noise and that is it.

Throwing 800fb3 and 800Fb2 codes - exterior mirror fold in electric motor faulty. Haven't decided if it's worth going down the rabbit hole to fix...

My understanding is that they can be folded manually though if needed

Sadly not. I have also noticed that the led in the handle isn't working. Not sure if this is/could be related

I don't have access to code reader so don't know if any faults show on mine.
There is no click on mine. The passenger side makes no noise at all.
Mine was stuck in the folded position so I manually turned it to open position. It stays in position but have noticed at motorway speeds, it wobbles a bit.
In a few months, I need to put caravan mirrors on so bit worried about the extra weight

What led are you talking about? Is it the driver's door handle? Someone told me it could be the actual switch on the driver's door handle.

Probably the led in the outside handle. My light is working fine.

Yes it's the light in the handle. On the passenger side. Same side as problem mirror.
Wasn't sure if they could've been linked. Guess it's just 2 faults on same side and a coincidence

Steve, do the other mirror functions work? I can still tilt/position the mirror and my side cameras still work.

Ya all the other mirror functions work for me too. I think it's the actual folding motors

Yes all other mirror functions work fine. Can adjust any way and dips when in reverse.
It just won't fold or unfold on its own like the drivers one does. No sound of motor or anything

Sadly not. Car is going in for service next month at an independent bmw garage so will ask them if they know and if it's a cheap fix which I doubt.
Unless someone knows a solution

Car got serviced at local independent garage. Mentioned the mirror to them. To be honest, they were not that helpful. Swivelled the mirror round and said motor is broke. Need a new mirror.
So currently the mirror still is as before and not folding.
I've seen other people complaining that the mirror had snapped off but not finding many people with it not working.
Still open to suggestions

The shop is probably right.

Take the door panel off and grab a multimeter and see if the wires are getting power when you are trying to fold it. If power is going to the mirror it's got a bad motor. If no power is there go upstream and check for pinched wires or a relay somewhere.
