Recall Alert - REPROGRAM CONTROL UNITS (DME) for my 2017 X3

Good morning!

I received a recall alert for my 2017 X3. I am scheduled to go on 12/14 with my dealership to get this update. Does anyone here know what the recall is for? Have you noticed any improvements in your X3 after the update was pushed?

Thanks!

Curious myself. Just go the letter in the mail over the weekend. I will have to inquire with the dealership when I get it scheduled. Probably wont bother for another month or so myself as its holiday season and we are pretty busy right through the end of the year. Curious to find out if anyone else has already looked into the details.

I had seen the image below (sorry about the poor quality) of the Canadian recall notice in another forum, which has additional some detail. What I get out of it is they are going to change the setting so then engine runs a bit leaner.

Emissions update

Just be aware it will erase any aftermarket software such as Apple car play, once the emissions up date is done.It will have to be re loaded

Got my recall for emissions done and it lost all the keying programs. Now keys do not work and dealer is claiming it's because of an after market key. And they won't take responsibility although even the original key fob is not functioning. They want to install a CAS unit for $4500 as a start to repair.

20E-A01 recall caused my engine light on, backfire.
Dealer said that it’s just coincidence that my coil and spark plugs were bad minutes after the reprogrammed
I think reprogramming cause the module to fail
