Credit to 12v_dub in the X3/X4 G01 forum for this find.

Michelin releases Pilot Sport AS 4 in stock sizes for the 21" competition wheels. Nice to have another option for those in colder climates

Some of us have to deal with cold/snow. I already swap out dedicated winter tires for two of my other cars and do not want to deal with another. A tire like the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S will provide way more traction than you need on the street so it's a great option for many.

It's a costly option to add a 2nd set of wheels tires for seasons especially on SUV's using big wheels and then there's the issue of storage depending on your living situation. If you live in a climate that gets light snow, a set of decent performance all-season tires could get the average person by year round and if you aren't tracking the vehicle you probably aren't missing a lot in the handling department. We get too much freezing snow/ice here so that's not an option for me so I had to shell out $$$ for an additional set of wheels/winter tires. That extra money could have gone to an Akrapovic exhaust ha ha ha.
