You do realize that the blue trim is a color option on the i8, right? You either get blue or grey accents.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I don't believe that to be the case with the first original editions of the i8. Either way BMW had to leave the environmental blue with the emblems and wheels.
Yes that's correct. You said the blue trim, which is an option. The roundels are still outlined in blue though. What a strange place for blue...
Cheers

Back on topic.
The car will come to the USA, just not at the launch. This is not uncommon across the brand though as most people are aware. Everyone seems to want an all wheel drive electric car as standard, even though most people have a 2wd commuter of some sort. All wheel drive will come later on. I for one am excited to see the car in person and drive one.

That's not correct.
BEV top 5 2020:
#1: Audi E-tron
#2: VW e-Golf
#3: Nissan Leaf
#4: Hyundai Kona
#5: Tesla Model 3

And for April the TM3 is down at #19

About the topic, I love the look of the new X3, I'm not too fond how this looks.

Why couldn't BMW do something like the 330e or 530e? I think they look great.

Ok, I stand corrected. However, with some subjective adjustments, I think I can justify my statement somewhat. Tesla 3 was the top selling car in Norway in 2019, by far. Etron is, as you also state, the top selling car in 2020.

Also there is the market segment, e-Golf, Leaf and Kona can be considered a bit more low end then Etron and Model 3. I don't think a Leaf or e-Golf buyer will ever consider the iX3, but a Tesla or Audi buyer would maybe do that.

I think BMW could easily make the iX3 look like a normal X3 if they pleased. The blue stuff is, of course not needed, and the rims don't have be like that. Maybe the wheels have to be thinner horizontaly, but you don't need freaked out rims for that.

I find it interesting that none of the competitors do the same, but BMW seems set on that you need some blue shit and "special rims" to show it's pure EV.

And you don't have to look at the 330e or 530e, they have the X3 30e, that looks like a perfectly normal X3
