Alright, I have some more info that points to us getting HK. I am now confident that my car has HK. Why?

1- I asked for an updated build sheet to today, and while it doesn't mention anything about HK, it does mention my price, which has remained the same. No credits.

2- My genius spoke to a product specialist and that if the option has not been removed from the pricing guide, then it should be in the car. He looked at the most updated pricing guide and HK is still there.

3- My genius had contacted someone at BMW. They explained that they cannot guarantee equipment, BUT, they are working hard (harder than the rest of the cars, I guess) not to remove any standard options from M Models (this is an obvious one, but still worthy of mention), and that Priority 3 and Priority 4 cars shouldn't be missing these parts. Did not understand the Priority # comments, but maybe something here does.

4- M40s are showing the option of getting HK. And from point 3 and what he told me, if they are getting it, we are getting it.

All in all, unless there is barely any stock available, we should have it.

This thread is giving me anxiety lol. Still crazy to me that no one at BMW can even confirm this as the car is in production, but I guess most folks will know very soon

Priority Status...

1 - Customer "sold"
2 - Center Own Use
3 - Priority Stock
4 - Stock

Basically Priority 1 means customer build to order (basically everyone in this thread), whereas Priority 3 and 4 are cars built cars for dealership stock.

Right, which is why the genius comment is odd about mentioning that priority 3 and 4 cars should not be missing parts etc, that could translate to "If I walk into a dealer that has an X3M on the floor, it could possibly be missing parts that a customer ordered car won't". That would be quite a mess.

On the flip side, I can see them not caring about priority 2 vehicles (such as M-school vehicles, fleet vehicles) missing HK etc

Either way, we indeed care about Priority 1 vehicles here.

Per BMWNA: mi car is slated to leave the vehicle production center today and arrive at the dealership on 08/04. That is, this coming Wednesday. Surprised there is so little lead time…

She did say this timeline was not guaranteed, but when pressed to see if there were any holds of any kind, she said "not at all, everything looks good."

I assume it was a comprehension mistake on my part… he was telling me how my car was very likely to get HK and then mentioned priority 3 and 4. My brain probably filled in the blanks incorrectly, the comment doesn't make sense as originally posted and he knows his isht.

If I get the HK, that will make the laser delete less annoying. I'm sure the LED adaptive are great. I think the adaptive on my 2013 328ix were LED. Still wish the carbon exterior package was available at this time

Well, my dealership is many states away from where the car will be delivered. So I guess I'll get pictures earlier than anyone else if I can convince my genius to get them for me 😁, but not the actual car.

Was finally able to decode the VIN of my 2022 X4Mc and shows a build date of the 28th.

I can confirm that 688 - Harman Kardon is indeed on our X3/X4Ms as well as 5AZ - Laserlights on my Canadian build.

I do note that 32Z does show up on the option codes as expected.

Thanks Tim, finally some hard data that HK is indeed on these cars. I am envious of your laser lights, but their adaptive leds are still pretty solid

To be frank with you, I am not sure why...BMWNA did not give me an explanation as to why when I asked the question, they just told me it will not be available on the X3/X4 M and to pretty much get over it...lol

No, it’s most likely due to parts shortage. Most other models have laser lights as options but since the US can’t really take advantage of them due to DOT regulations, BMW probably figured that it would be best for other countries have access to the laser lights instead for the initial run.

unlike other models however, the adaptive led and the laser lights look almost the same (same shape DRLs, minus the blue trim with the laser lights).

Personally I happen to like the shape of the laser light DRLS so as long as the led have the same shape (which they do), I don’t mind losing out on the lasers. there’s always the choice of retrofitting in the future too, but probably not worth it IMO.

Parts shortage would be my guess also, I mean, you can order the Adaptive LED/Laserlight option on both the new M3/M4 and the X5/X6Ms sold in the US, and you are right, luckily both version of the lights look pretty much the same on our cars so no big deal there, as opposed to what they look like on the M3/M4 with the different looking DRL which I do not like.
