Corner Lighting?

Hi Everyone,

I didn't come across a clear post on if corner lighting is possible on a '17 X3. Some say yes, some say maybe... some say no.

I tried to code my X3 (it has halogens with LED fog lights) with the parameters below but all it did was disable my high beams . Has anyone had any success or do I have a coding mistake?

FRM --> 3080 --> C_CLC_ENA --> F25Enable
FRM --> 3080 --> C_BLC_ENA --> F25Enable
FRM --> 3080 --> Lamp_map_para_satz_01 --> BV-F025_WERT02_Corneringlight-UBER-NSW
FRM --> 3080 --> Lamp_map_para_satz_02 --> BV-F025_WERT02_Corneringlight-UBER-NSW
FRM --> 3080 --> U_EFF_CL --> wert_07__12,8V

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks for the response Almaretto. You helped clarified. This cannot be achieved with adaptive headlights. This can be found at the link below:

I have cornering lighting on my X3 through the Foglights

It also has adaptive lights ... however mine is in the UK and I am aware that US Federal law prohibits the full adaptive experience we get in Europe .. so that may be an issue for you

Based on my understanding now, corner lighting is only available if you have adaptive headlights which I do not

Where did I go wrong in my coding? I coded these however it didn't do anything but disabled high beams.

FRM --> 3080 --> C_CLC_ENA --> F25Enable
FRM --> 3080 --> C_BLC_ENA --> F25Enable
FRM --> 3080 --> Lamp_map_para_satz_01 --> BV-F025_WERT02_Corneringlight-UBER-NSW
FRM --> 3080 --> Lamp_map_para_satz_02 --> BV-F025_WERT02_Corneringlight-UBER-NSW

You tried to FDL a car with inadequate hardware when you need to VO code with adaptive headlamps.

Thanks @Sephanite that would be great if you could do that. I've been struggling with this for quite some time.

The coding is as follows Left original value right modified value

U_EFF_CL Left: wert_02__aus = 00 Right: wert_08__13,0V = 82
C_CLC_ENA Left: F025_disable = 00 Right: F025_enable = 01
LAMP_MAP_PARA_SATZ_01 Left: BV_F025_wert_99 = 00 00 00 00
Right: BV_F025_wert_02__Cornerlight_ueber_NSW = 07 0E 12 64
LAMP_MAP_PARA_SATZ_02 Left: BV_F025_wert_99 = 00 00 00 00
Right: BV_F025_wert_02__Cornerlight_ueber_NSW = 08 01 12 64

Please note this is for an EU ROW spec car NA spec BMW's may differ

Thanks Bambazonke . I did give this a try however as soon as I enable this my high beams no longer work. On another thread, some people are saying that it is only possible with Adaptive Headlights. Do you have AH?

No I do not have AH but I have Xenon's. I initially VO coded the car with SA524 and then FDL reversed the coding for the AH hardware I did not have and this removed the errors. I think the issue may lie with you having standard halogen headlights. Can you send me your FRM ncd file so I can do a comparison with mine it may give you a lead.

What I would suggest is, assuming you know how to VO code, is add 524 to your Salapa list update your FA and VO code your FRM module. You will get a whole list of errors but at least you will see if corner lighting via the fogs works AND your high beams work. If this works then using the Tokenmaster's tool to compare ncd files reverse the changes via FDL coding the changes that VO coding did for the hardware you don't have ie the turning lamp inside the headlight etc.

Please remember to save a copy of your FRM ncd file BEFORE you VO code and directly after you have done it. Good luck

Thanks for the suggestion Bambazonke. I tried to VO code and that went fine. It threw a lot of AHL errors but that was expected. I tried to then see if Corner Lighting was working and it wasn't. I am not sure if that was because of the other errors or not. I did run the compare tool and the complete output is below.

The only value that was different from what you suggested was:
U_EFF_CL Left: wert_02__aus = 00 Right: wert_04__100% = 32

What I am going to do when I have some more time is try to just change the U_EFF_CL value to the above in addition to the other changes that were recommended but I am not sure if this will work.

If you have any further suggestions please let me know.

Code:
ASP_BEIKLAPPEN_BEI_KOMFORTSCHLIESSEN	Left: aktiv (Active) = 01	Right: nicht aktiv (NOT ACTIVE) = 00

From your observations I am of the opinion your FRM module does not support corner lighting mine worked straight away even with all the errors after I VO coded it with SA524
