My ECU update was done today along with my run in service. No issues. Randomly when I called one Stratstone dealer they had no updates needed, called another Stratstone 1 hour later and they informed me that an update was needed!

I would have thought the same however, it was taken to the detailers at the expense of BMWs staff time for 2 people for a few hours so definately would have been easier for them to apply the update if it existed

I went to collect mine today, dealer could not release the car due to the software update being required so I’m hopefully collecting in 24hrs.
Strange it was not picked up during PDI. |

I'm at the dealership now getting my RIS performed. My service advisor made mention of the recall for the ecu update. He told me it's nothing major and I need not get it right now. Can make an appointment to have it done at a later date. They said it takes "all day" apparently. Since it's Saturday they don't have to capacity to do it today. I know some other dealerships only perform recall work on weekdays. (Like our Honda)
