5-6 years ago and they are a POS? Really ?? They weren’t even in the US then , so you purchased a unit when everything was done in Germany and not necessarily validated on a US spec car . So I guess then the same could be said for burger with the major fine they suffered in California with the state and many many damaged vehicles from too aggressive a tune . Kinda harsh both ways IMO

I am not from US, i live in Europe. Portugal.

All these kind of boxes (include racechip) - crap and just for stupid ppl, who don't known nothing about car remap.

For now - i have huge exp in tuning and made 6 high tuned bmw's, but 6 years ago - i was a newbie and bought this box for my 330d and in 3 days my cluctch insta die, also EGT temperature became too high and was danger for the turbo

So we have all this fancy equipment around here, but didn't bother to run a baseline? C'mon. We're not idiots. Show us the data.

IND got what, 491 at the wheels stock? These guys got 509. Congrats. You added 18hp. Amazing.

The attention grabbing headline is misleading and just marketing. Why front page news?

I am very very want to see baseline with OPF and without (US version) of stock car.

For example, new audi TTRS 2020 slower almost 0.5s on 1/4 compare to 2018 year same car due to OPF filter installed.

So with OPF x3m should have less 30-40hp, so if OPF car has 510hp, so non OPF can have 540-550 easy.

We can wait easy 650hp from decat+simpe remap, that's will be amazing result and car can do like low 11s or high 10 on 1/4? Should be fast as like stock m5, weight almost the same and power. I assume x3m has better grip than m5, cuz car can move a lot of weight on the rear and suspension move is higher

When "The Bun Guys" release their video with the before/after details we'll have plenty of data.

You can not compare a Maha dyno Rear Wheel number to anything...it was not designed for that.....it's designed to calculate engine HP/TQ only......the RWHP number is just a variable used in the overall calculation as that is a measurement (unlike DynoJet, Mustang,etc.).

RaceChip will be a great option for a safe power bump that can be installed and forgotten . I used three of their units over 40,000 miles and all have been great. Not as huge of a power gain as a reflash, but it's not pushing outside of the safety window either. Plug it in for a typical 40-60 engine HP gain and enjoy it. Bypass plug in 10 seconds for a trip to the dealer for an oil change.

4331Lbs for a M5. 4435 for a X3M. Well done. Less weight for RaceChip to move ! 50.8 % Front, 49.2% Rear for the X3M. Excellent balance.

Keep in mind that US WHP equals rest of the worlds crank hp.

Well, there we have it. I will retract my skepticism. They put up the baselines, they did legit on-road testing. Appear to have taken a non-comp engine up a very decent amount. Well done.

This engine has potential, indeed...

They like to tease by releasing information bits by bits. Haha.

I just got the Euro map installed yesterday. It has woken up the little beast.
But, we still need to refine the map for US market where we don't have OPF.

I would say we may see more gain that what they have over there.

The engine is the same for comp and base models. The tune is the only difference. Thus, ultimate power via an aftermarket tune should be exactly the same between base and comp.

One thing I love about this motor being available now is that development for mods will already be tested upon the arrival of the G8X. Additionally, when you see what the X4M, for example, is capable of in terms of performance, the lighter, more agile and finessed G8X will be spectacular.
