OEM Replacement Rim
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com I figure my options are buying a new one from BMW for $1,200 or lucking out and finding a used one for sale locally (no luck yet). Does anyone have any other suggestions? Also, can anyone confirm a part number for the rim? It's stock and the window sticker says 21" V-spoke bi-color 765M JB. It's a rear rim and I assume its wider than the front. (front rim pictured) |

Just how bad a "ding" was it? You'd be amazed at what a good rim repair specialist can fix for $200 or less, and I'm as anal as they come.

^^^^^ This. Just get it repaired. Otherwise hit ebay and Craigslist and pick one up cheap. However, if your photo is supposed to show your "ding", I would ignore it and drive. Nothing is going to stay "mint" for long.

As a few have stated above, this can be easily repaired, and in most cases it will be very hard to tell the difference. I you are still unhappy with the results then you've only wasted $150-200.

Yeah you did a number on it, but that still looks easily repairable to my eye. Like others said, worst case you're out a couple hundred bucks, but my money says you'll be pleased with the results.
Just take the time to research and find a reputable specialist in your area. I've found that reaching out to well-respected local detailers can help get you started.

They didn't offer you a tire/wheel warranty when you bought it? I was offered it and did get it since it's an expensive wheel/tire and covers unlimited cosmetic repairs as well. It was around $2000 for 5 years (it's negotiable).
I did ask the cost for an average cosmetic repair without the warranty and they said around $250 and it's a same day (few hours) repair. If this is something that worries you a lot mention the tire/wheel warranty and if they have it and never told you about it, say that it was never offered to you and ask if you can get it in retrospect. That way you are covered for future incidents.
