‘22 X3MC roof leak

Hey, guys, it’s raining today and for the first time since I’ve owned the car since last summer I’ve noticed the leak coming from the drivers roof mic. Did anybody else experience this? I’m obviously scheduling a service appointment, just curious if anybody had this before and what was it.

If you have the sunroof make sure the drains are not clogged. There are two holes, one on each side towards the front of your sunroof. You have to open it and look at the corners. Try compressed air or a pipe cleaner gently in those holes to clear it up.

Boy BMW really screwed the the stuffed animal with this moonroof.

Mine has leaked when new. -soo many others.

The 5 other cars I've owned with sunroofs that have lived right where this X3 lives? ... zero leaks ...ever.

Unfortunately the X5 and X7’s have the same problem, my X7 included.

So what has generally been the 'fix' for these leaking sunroofs? If it's that common an issue, I'd assume there's a common cause.

My issues were always with seals becoming partially dislodged, or needed to be replaced entirely. Hop on a step ladder and look at the seal, see if it looks like it isn’t pushed in all the way in certain spots.

Thanks, I'll add checking the sunroof to my routine when I wash the car. I don't use it ever (probably should have optioned it without) so it has a tendency to be out of sight and out of mind for me.

Soaked today again. Checked the drain hole-drains as it should.

I had the same issue, albeit not as bad as yours. It was raining one day and I felt a drip on my lap. noticed some condensation at the driver side microphone. It was a small area in the rubber seal in the pano roof that I guess lost it's shape/seal over time that was the culprit, not the drain. The seals and microphone were replaced. No issues since
