Thank you, but No.
Looking forward to the iNext, I love the intelligence in the i-concept. Xi3 is just for those who think a car still has to look like this. But form follows function, so why a gasoline car design |

I don't see it as "gasoline car design". I see it as conservative car design, to melt in and don't make my neighbours to jealous. Personally I don't want to stick out too much, but enjoy the high tech. /n |

Certainly room for both types and hopefully help with development costs of new models getting the iX3 out there but will be a shame if interior of iX3 isn't updated space wise which is a real plus point of pure electric models but I suppose then that would need a complete redesign?

The problem electric helps with is the tail pipe emissions which cause health problems in built up areas which has been found to be a bigger problem with Diesel engines hence the recent hate for them Like everything it is a start, once better forms of battery come around it should reduce the co2 even more I'm certainly not ready for an electric car yet but maybe in 4-5 years time I may change my mind if they improve the battery technology |

...and Audi and Mercedes. I'm getting depressed at the Audi eTrons that are popping up in my area. Where is the iX3? BMW, you're falling further and further behind. Instread they waste time on styling exercises like the X7 Pickup. Alas.

Honestly, despite it still being far from production, I'm much more interested in the upcoming i4.

I own an XC90 T8, get ~18 or so miles per charge. If there's one thing this has taught me, it's that I really like EVs, it totally changes the way I drive.
If there's another thing, it's that it would be tough for me to go full electric, there just aren't enough chargers handy yet. With the plug in hybrid I love being both electric and having the convenience of being able to fill up anywhere and still go anywhere. As such, I'm looking forward to the X5 45e, which will have enough range for 99% of our daily driving, as opposed to the XC90 which covers us maybe 80% (we do about 1200 miles per tank on an 18 gallon tank). This still gives us the convenience of being able to fill up anywhere. When even 30% of Highway pit stops have chargers and we can just stop without planning, then I might consider full electric. Until then I think PHEV is where it's at. |

Does anyone have any updates on the iX3?
I’m considering buying a new suv next year and think this one would be good. Also looking at Tesla model Y, Audi Q4 e tron or Volvo xc40 recharge. All better come in around $50k, because if not.. Tesla wins. Not paying $60-70. Yes, flame me now. |

1) announced two wheel drive that I haven't seen any contradiction on (looking for at least an auto mag report of the level of the initial report). 2) lame performance - XC40 recharge is targeting 4.7 sec to 60 which is roughly M40i performance. Honestly I'd be tempted to put a deposit on a Recharge if it were just a tad larger. I am interested in an EV but I just can't get excited about Tesla. The looks are just tired at this point and I think they'll continue to look the same for the foreseeable future. I feel like all of the models are indistinguishable from the front. |
