Interesting styling. The blue goes well with it, but SPY not so much. I give BMW credit for sticking to their guns and refreshing their vehicles with the new design language. Everything coming out is sharp and angular. The interiors in these new BMW's are fantastic.

Well, they've somehow managed to make it look worse. Doesn't look like an M much now in the front.

Not a fan of the taillights or the placement of the rear reflectors on the X3M. Otherwise the updates look good to me.
I like to see a bold color like SPY on these things.

Much better looking than I had anticipated, very cleaned up looking.
The taillights remind me of bloodshot eyes or those toys you squeeze and the eyeballs pop out.

I agree, I love seeing these colors. These are literally exotic cars pretty much any more, they can keep up and beat the original exotics, ie lambo etc…

Yikes those x3m tails are horrific. Also why only upgrade the center console? Interior is very disjointed now with the legacy door cards and mismatched parts.

X3M looks good, will take some time to get use to the new intake/bumper design, but overall a nice update.
X4M is well... a particular taste. Not sure what is going on with the rear gloss trim though, and SPY on a big vehicle like this looks very out of place. Frozen Portimao looks good at least. |

Wow, it used to be sacrilege to bump hp/tq on an M LCI. I guess those days are over. Might be time for me to move to another brand.

Those X3M tails makes me think it's a lifted Toyota 86 or something? and the new rear apron design on the X4M, yikes. Interior is a nice upgrade indeed, but some angular choices on the exterior on both could have been better executed. At least it's way better than the base X3/4

wait to see the actual @rpm ratings as well as dynos. I still believe these are paper numbers. There is no way they bumped the TQ 37ft lbs and magically improved 0-60 3 tenths.

Overall a pretty solid LCI update and in line with what most reasonable expectations would've been.
We've already gotten used to the grilles meeting in the middle from previous updates on the F87 and G20/F90 and the X3/X3M LCI taillights bring it more in line with current design language while still keeping a unique design to the X3 chassis. They (the lighting pattern specifically) do stand out quite a bit but sort of remind me of a more aggressive/angry F15 X5 taillight. Although there was nothing wrong with the pre-LCI bumper design, the LCI ones clean up nicely. No win or lose there with the front bumper, but as a whole overall this LCI will age quite nicely as most BMW facelifts do.

Not a fan, especially of the X3M tail lights and the overall exterior design language, which they clearly styled to make it look like the G80.
But my MAIN GRIPE IS THE CARBON FIBER STRUT BAR IS BACK. They screwed us early adopters on that, hard! And it comes with CF mirrors too, that hurts. To add those after the fact requires a second mortgage your house. |
