KT F97 Photo Build!

Greetings X'ers. After seeing many build threads I've decided to do my own journal. Living in a city where there are so many exotics and seeing AMGs and M40i's equivalent to civics, the F97 does stand out quite often. I've seen maybe less than 10 X3M/X4s let alone competitions driving around the city and I've gotten called out many times by people saying I am "upbadging". Many X3's driving around the city are M40i's or x30i's

Little back story about this car, I bought it at pretty much half price at 5xxx miles. I couldn't turn it down but without knowing the real potential of this car it became my daily driver side to side with my Tesla. After owning it for a few days, a couple google searches and lurking forums, BAM S58 motor.

Here she is!!!!

JUST KIDDING I WOULD NEVER

After I picked up the car from the previous owner, I went straight to my friends shop to see immediately if I can make this X3MC unique.

One of the first mods I got installed 2-3 months after driving the car stock was an intake from Eventuri. I'm a huge sucker for carbon.

I wanted a nice tune and because he's an authorized dealer for BM3, I went that route. I wanted to push out the most power I could without breaking the bank so I ended up getting a Catless Race DP from Supersprint. Very happy with the sound but still due for an exhaust.

After driving the car for two months of so, the car was due for plugs and cabin filters. Sales Manager hooked me up with a brand new (600km) LCI 21' M40i for a few days. Being 210lb and 6'2, the car seemed a bit too comfortable to me and just didn't compare to my X3M (sorry I'm in my late 20's so comfortability isn't my concern!!!) for me power wise and exhaust note wise I didn't expect much. My experience differs as I hear quite a few M40i's with fairly loud startups (I started it up in S+) but my loaner wasn't quite there. Overall girlfriend loves the M40i more compared to X3MC due to the raw handling and seats being less cushion'ie and maybe the red interior the M40i had. Looks wise, the LCI M40i does look bigger IMO but the taillights is one thing I personally cannot unsee.

Few weeks after getting my X3MC back from the service, next thing I wanted to tackle down was tires as the SportConti 6 were terrible. Wanted to do the essential upgrade of 265/295 on PS4S. Stumbled upon a set of HRE FF11's for 3000 CAD WITH PS4S that were off of an F90 285 Front / 295 Rear. Ended up snagging those up for a steal. Essential paid for tires and got free rims and TPMS so very happy about that as I originally tried to get FF11's for my Tesla but no stock was available anywhere. Installed and looks great but the tire gap was horrendous maybe due to the fact that the tire profile was 30. Had a local shop list a set of H&R Springs for sale for $300CAD and ended picking those up. Due to the amount of snow we had, I had to swap back to my 765Ms and mount Winter Scorpions then lower my car due to several road trips onto the islands and mountains.

After dealing with numerous scammers (yall know who yall are) regarding a M Performance Spoiler, I was able to get a deal of almost half of what local dealerships were selling them for from getbmwparts.com and shipping was very quick as the item was in-stock. Fairly easy to install and lineup. Ended up ordering the Gear Selector Carbon Trim from Autotechnic aswell and was quite a paint to install. The clearcoat finishing on one of the edges was pretty much gone but got a credit on them so cant complain.

After 2 months of driving on winters and weather forecast says no more snow, aswell as my front pads wearing down too prematurely to 3mm (every drive is spirited driving I cant resist it ) I ordered IS2000 pads from r33_RGSport due to many members recommendations. Friend taught and lent me his space to swap the pads (never done brakes in my life) and was fairly easy and straight forward. After several runs bedding in the pads, these brakes feel amazing. Also took the opportunity to slap my HRE's back on as I was aching to see how the car will sit now that its lowered and on the HRE's. Love the stance now

I have to admit, this was a challenging post to follow. I got the joke but the swapping between different X3s was like a movie.

Bravo!

And congrats on the ride!
