Fuel filter replacement filter

Hi All! I hope all is going well.

I was wondering if anyone has replaced the fuel filter on their x3's?

Everything I've ever read said it's built into the pump and isn't expected to ever need to be replaced.

I've swapped fuel filters on a number of my cars over time but it seems to be a thing that's gone away.

Maybe you knew that... if so you'd want to look at pump swap procedures. Probably involves pulling out the back seat cushion.

Got it. I wanted to make sure. I will speak to my BMW specialized shop guys and see what he says. I'm just making sure Im staying on top of maintenance.

I have replaced fuel filters on other cars as well, but on older cars... seems to not be the case nowadays...

It depends on your fuel type. Diesel will be in line. Benzin will most likely be inside the tank.

The fuel filter is inside the tank. I spoke to my BMW specialist shop. I was told only to change it if any issues arise.

Wife's new 2022 M40i was delivered to our BMW dealership yesterday. The Brooklyn Gray Metallic is such a beautiful color once you see it in person. We still are disappointed BMW deleted the Shadowline Package from our build but all current X4/X3 builds are, otherwise the vehicle is stunning!

Did it come with a brand new fuel filter?
