Only way to know if a good deal is to know your cap, lease term, residual and money factor to be able to calculate and understand the lease payment yourself.

Yup I think you are focusing on the wrong numbers unless you knew what you were doing.
Or the sales person is laughing now if you only focused on MSRP and monthly payment.

Based on standard MF of .00182 and 10k residual of 58%, and November incentives of 1250 and 1500 lease and loyalty credits:

686/month is based on 9100 cap cost reduction off MSRP. After BMW credits that's over 9% off MSRP. Perhaps I'm missing something..?

Seems good to me, but I wanted to see what offers others were getting on the board. I can get the dealership to confirm my numbers tmrw. Appreciate any feedback!

Meh

I can order custom a fully loaded north $69k For $699 36/10 $4400 drive off
8.625 tax

Didn't need to negotiate that hard for that number

So I'm $3k more list than yours and custom to order

Look at Residual x $3000
Every $1000 is worth about $30

Btw this is in the NYC suburbs

Also it was .00128 mf, I think you mixed your numbers

Shoot for 650

That's great. Thanks so much for the info. I usually lease in central NJ, but I'm open to other locations in the tri-state area. Any dealer recommendations would be appreciated.

I put the build out through the BMW site to several local dealers yesterday, I'll focus on the cap cost and MF this time, and shoot for 650.

Three things on leasing...never negotiate on monthly payment amount, never put cap reduction down unless for govt fees and be able to calculate your own payment so you can understand the variables in it.

You still aren't indicating what exact cap is...56795? I don't know how taxes in NY work...but you better...are they not a function of monthly payment or ? Why pay all upfront? How does the 4400 down break down exactly? Be aware any money you put down on a lease can be lost if you drive car off lot and it gets totaled...

In NY you can pay taxes on the lease payment upfront or rolled in.

You point is well taken that if car is totaled you won't get your drive off back (is paying NY taxes upfront at drive off v rolling in)

Our taxes are high so 4400 is usually the taxes, bank fee and dmv, sometimes inclusive of first month)

So you are really only losing out on the high 2000 to 3000 of taxes you pay upfront)

Without those your drive off would be dmv bank fee and your first month paid )

If you want to look at it another way if you could pay $775 a month with zero down and zero drive off and just sign and get your keys on your MSRP
You have a solid deal versus the common man.

I get a payment of 637.62 with MSRP of 65895 and cap of 56795 (9100 off)...so 50 bucks lower than he is indicating...this is why you need to be able to calculate your own payment and not rely on dealer to do it for you. Plenty of lease calculators online.

PS, to me a good deal right now is about $1-2K under invoice plus whatever incentives you qualify for.

I think his MF was inflated by the stealership

Well dealers are in the business to make money and if you can't even calculate your own lease payment they will take advantage.

Even applying max MF markup does not get payment to 686 so there are other factors in play.

Not sure I fully agree with your first rule. If we are calcing out our lease payments and know exactly what goes into the monthly payment, I think its perfectly fine to negotiate down to your monthly payment rather than worry about getting into the technical non-sense. Unless of course you're dealing with a terrible salesman and he doesn't understand the payment himself. At the end of the day if you are satisfied with your drive off amount (if any) and your monthly payment, what else matters? I think most people on these forums know how to use the lease calculator and should know when they are getting taken advantage of (thank god for those people though because we get awesome deals because people pay full MSRP!).

I hear ya but I think there are some things in talking payment that can be taken advantage of or misconstrued later in the process...like settling on a payment and then the salesguy saying 'oh my payment was with 2000 down', etc.

On a lease negotiating the cap first and interest rate next is always clearer to me anyway...and more transparent...living in Chicago where leasing makes zero financial sense my negotiation dealing in cash basically is the same by just negotiating sales price/cap...after that if I ever wanted to I can easily move to a lease/finance negotiation if desired.

I know a lot (most?!) of people buy solely based on squeezing a certain payment into their budget...but that is a whole other discussion.

Two questions:

1. Why the difference? Maybe its different (Bay Area in CA) for my area than the national average?

2. What do they mean by "conquest"?

Incentive in my area says this for Nov...looks to me like combined loyalty and finance incentives...same 4K as was in Oct but separately.

Arrow MY2020 X3 M40 very loaded, is this good?

Is this a good deal?

MY2020 X3 m40 very loaded

MSRP: $67,923
Discount: $2,500
Rebates: $2,000
Adjusted Selling price: $63,423
Trade: $6,000 (2011 Toyota RAV4, kbb says 6200 to 7200)

Total purchase including tax for 11218: $62,802 (~-8% msrp)

The same dealer has advertised incentives of 2500 in manufacturers rebate, 5000 in dealer incentives and 750 in 'new bmw owners' to an m40 in the lot. any reason why they wouldn't apply the same incentives on an order?

Is there any fineprint stating it only applies to dealer inventory? i got some mail from my dealership about turning in my x5 early and getting all sorts of dealer incentives on a new x5, however the fine print dictated that it had to be from dealer inventory.
I was in my dealership talking numbers on a new car to replace my x5. the deals on the x3m40i wasn't as aggresive as the deals they were offering on the x3m. guess what i wound up driving home.. lol

Should be about to get to 1-2K under invoice before any rebates you are eligible for.

Hey everyone,

Considering a 2020 X3 M40i with MSRP $68,670. Dealer has offered 10% off MSRP for special 'fleet pricing'. What incentives are out there for November? I see a $4,000 'road home' credit, but are there any loyalty, finance credits on top of that? I believe the 4k is $2500 finance and $1500 loyalty? I also have $1000 code from BMW driving event and BMW CCA rebate. Anything more I should ask off from the dealer? The 10% off MSRP came pretty easy from the dealer via email inquiry.

$68,670 MSRP
- 6,867 10% dealer discount
- 4,000 road home
- 1,000 BMW driving event
- 500 BMW CCA rebate
——————————————
$56,303 (did not account for taxes here) ~18% savings. Looking to qualify for 2.99% promo 60 months through BMWFS. What do you all think?

Wish I knew how you guys were getting these deals. Reached out to a local dealer and their first offer on an X3 M40i 3yr, 10k miles, $3,000 out of pocket was ~$850 / month. Not even sure it's worth digging down into the specifics with that starting point.
